Here's my preview of Apartment Life. It's not a real preview as I prefered to seek answers to questions people mailed to me. Many questions I couldn't answer as there were no Maxoids at the presentation, but I did my best to answer as many as I could. Also, several questions that were sent, have already been answered on the latest chat so those I will skip. Can you make your own apartment building? Yes there is a cheat for that. Check the Cheats page on this site to see them all. Will the twirl your child around be an option under Play? Yes this option can be found under Play. What stuff does the lapdog do? Here are the options: Play with/Give food/Watch/Put up for adoption/Give treat/Carry How does the new placement thing work? It works very easy. Just place an object (lamp/decoration/painting) on the wall and press the { and } keys to position it as high or low as you like. Are there going to be new pre-built houses (not apartments) in the game? Yes, the new neighbourhood is filled with pre-built houses and there are also a few houses in the houses bin. In fact, Belladonna Cove is so filled with buildings, it's hard to even find an empty spot! What new community building are there?/How do libraries/museum function? Besides a lot of apartments and homes, there are also many community buildings. A museum, library, parks, a gym, coffeeshop,etc. They are just like the public buildings (shops/parks) in the regular game. You can watch the art, read a book, meet other sims etc.        Where can you go with the helicopter? To your work and everywhere there is a helipad. Since other expansions weren't installed, I can't tell if you can use it to go to holiday, shopping centre,etc. The options for the helicopter are: Take a spin/sit in vehicle/get alarm installed/go somewhere../change owner The price is §20.000, comfort 10, energy 5, fun 10 Can you give more info about the new families? Well most have a story to them but I can't just post them all. Check the left pic for an interesting familystory. Will some lots have hottubs and if not, can you put one on the lot since you don't own it? You can place anything on the lot as you wish. You just can not use buildmode (though you can with a cheat). Is the park so big that it will cause slowdown? The park is pretty big yes, but I didn't notice a very long loading time compared to the regular lots. Are there new outfits for toddlers,teens,elders,etc? I have some good news and bad news. The bad news is that there is NOTHING new for the toddlers. Also the other ages don't get a lot of new clothes either. However the much neglected age group in the other packs, the elders, now have quite a few new clothings. And they're very hip and stylish as well. There is a picture of 2 sims looking at the stars all cuddled up. Is this a new interaction? Yes it's called Cuddle Under Clouds. Can the kiss Suck face and Polite kiss be done with any sim or is it a special social that can only be done by the groups like Gearhead? They can be done by any sim. How do you make ceilings/Can you make the ceilings invisible/Can you have multiple ceiling patterns? I recieved these and many other questions about ceilings. It's not that difficult to make them: First just make a room and put a floor on top of it (or use an existing room), move the camera into the room and then just press the 45 degree angle button. This will move the camera towards the ceiling and you can use any floor pattern to decorate your ceiling with. It works exactly the same as flooring; Either 1 tile at a time or press Shift to cover an entire room. So yes you can have multiple patterns. You can choose to have the ceiling invisible or not (through the use of a button). And ofcourse you can hang ceilinglamps on to it. Note that it is not required to use the 45 degree button. You can also just make the ceilings visible in normal buildmode and decorate your ceilings that way (I must confess that I found this easier to use).        What about the trailers in the trailerpark? Are they bigger then Brandi Broke's or are they just as small? They are quite small. Smaller then Brandi's. I took a pic from inside one of the trailers. Are there already people living in the aparments when you enter? Yes, many apartment buildings have npc's living in them. Are there new Neighbourhood objects? There's a Bella statue and some other little things. There are also several so-called 'alley's'. Placing these close to apartments lowers or raises the rent price. Do the toddlers have new toys?
