I'm really starting to think that a CAPTCHA thingo on registration would be a good idea.

We have one it just doesn't seem to stop them.

Yeah, but that isn't a captcha like the ones that actually do have "captcha" on their UI. :/

I don't understand how they get in. I had a catchuplagblshahah I can't spell, when I was logging in and it took me 3 tries. Those ones are hard!

I don't think the pirated games spammer was a bot. He/she/it had an avatar. They can register even if we had ketchup. =d

Let's try something else. I changed a setting so now it asks a question that must be answered before being registered. If they are indeed bots they should fail the question. We'll see how it goes. If it doesn't work there is a harder captcha and I think I can do the captcha and the question together.

Thank God there may be less spam bots. I was looking forward to the thread in the roleplay section that was advertising dental care. I want a dentistry based RP goddammit!!

I was talking to my brother about website security and then I mentioned our bot problem and how we are using a registration question now. He says anything that gets past the question is a real person and not a bot and that he has never seen a bot get past a question before.

Yeah I just don't get why they want to spam us so much. It's exasperating.

And they're completely irrelevant things that I doubt any of us would actually want.
You'd at least think they'd spam us about games or something.

It's seemed to really pick up over the last couple of days, we've got a "ladyboy porn" spam post over in the Stuff Packs section, and there's a couple more dotted around.
