 The Awkward Advent Calendar
(Note: There's currently a glitch in this thread... it thinks it's two replies ahead of itself, and so, for the last two posts on every page, it creates a 'ghost' page. If you get a 'no posts exist for this topic' error occasionally, just go back a page to the 'real' last page. It's a small irritation, but nothing to worry about.)
Here we go again...
Welcome to The Awkward Advent Calendar, my excuse to boss you around and hurl challenges in your face until you relent and start being entertaining, for the purpose of winning a scribble of a belt that looks nothing like an actual belt. Most of you probably know the drill by now.
This, you may know (hello, "most of you"), is the third incarnation of the thread. #1 was started December last year as a silly novelty one-month lead-up to Christmas thing (hence the now-nonsensical title) and sort of took off a bit more than I expected. Then BOOM, loads of threads were mysteriously deleted and it was one of them. Right. #2 was started, and with a slight revamp, and took off a lot more. A few-thousand posts of nigh-on cult-like devotion later and BOOM, you know the drill. The advent calendar this sets out to be was once again battered and broken, flaps akimbo. Here's #3, a new fresh start, which isn't much of a silver lining when I was perfectly happy with how #2 went. This time I hope I'm not setting myself up to lose even more. If this one gets the same fate, look out for an obituary of a kid in England who hanged himself with tinsel in the middle of summer, suicide note demanding "SOMEBODY KICK THAT FORUM HARD IN THE TESTICLES". Written in blood.
On THAT optimistic note, here's what the thread's all about! Roughly every day, I set a challenge. In the past, these have been confused rap battles, drawing contests, résumés for hot dog strippers, treasure hunts, unsubtle innuendo competitons, slavery, etc. There is one on at almost any given time, excepting small gaps between them. Every challenge should have a clear description, and the link to the description will be edited into the bottom of this post each time for easy access. Keep referring back to here if you don't want to trawl through pages to find it. Unless specified otherwise, any member can dip in and compete. It shouldn't be too complicated, but if you've no idea what's going on, you're free to ask questions within the thread. Here's the scoring system explanation for those who care... if not, skip on by and have fun:
The prize will usually be a chocolate. An imaginary e-chocolate from an imaginary e-advent calendar. Utterly useless. Whoever has the most 'chocolates' at any given time will win a belt. Like in those wrestling things only with less sweat and bling. Even more useless. You can ignore it if you want, or get viciously competitive. Whatever takes your fancy. The scores, to the probable dismay of many (read: Brit, who was winning during both deletions), have been reset for the start of this thread. The current belt and rankings - the brackets representing the current number of chocolates - are here.
Current belt:

Current rankings/scores: #1: Ellipsis (18) #2: Guy Gadbois (16) #3: MiCkJaGgErSbAlLsLoL~~** (11) #3: CrazyZimBrandina (11) #5: Erry (10) #6: Starlight132 (9) #7: Lynx (6) #8: AliceIsOuttaWonderland (5) #9: Kai Awase (2) #9: Roxas (2) #11: Justin much? (1) #11: LemonadeSim (1) #11: Florence (1) #11: Senzuri (1) #11: Chichikov (1) #?: boines (0) #!: Bonky (hiding in a bunker)
Current challenge: Just finished, next one... pending...? Oh, I don't know, IT'S THE FORUMPOCALYPSE, PEOPLE

#37, one-hit-wonderdome: pt. 3 (351 posts) #36, one-hit-wonderdome: pt. 2 (307) #35, one-hit-wonderdome: pt. 1 (240) #23, Chocolate or No Chocolate (193) #33, deathmatch... of DEATH (153) #38, babblebabelfishbitch (133) #28, aposiopesis (127) #11, which isn't the answer (124) #8, something kinda haikooooh (115) #6, in your own words (107) #24, in the timezone (101) #34, aural presentation (83) #42, Awklympics: shooting (80) #10, how Google sees you (77) #25, merry... > Shadowsim's 400 Metre Race! - AAC equivalent run by, believe it or not, Shadowsim > 'The Awkward Advent Calendar' - Erhama's second advent thread, for some reason going by the same title as mine (although originally titled 'The Akward Adevent Calendar'). Jumped in AAC 2.0's grave as a substitute, now redundant > The Snooty Sim Triathalon! - ~~Caroline~~'s shorter take, similar to Shadowsim's thread only it ended abruptly after three challenges > The Awkward Advent Calendar: UNOFFICIAL Discussion Thread. - AliceIsOuttaWonderland's thread started during the second AAC and outliving it, a topic about this topic rather than an equivalent > InSim Advent Calendar - Lynx/Cocoa/canadiancougar/whatever you know her as seemingly took the adventery outside of SS too... recently revived and currently active, now looking for budding movie stars > Erhama's first advent equivalent, and Justin much?'s take on it (the first alternative, if I remember rightly, made during AAC 1.0) seem to have gone. If they're still around, or there are others I've missed, please let me know

Hello choir! I like that the first drawing's posted before there's a challenge to compete in.
If it's any consolation, I won't be around for most of the 5th, 6th and 7th either and most of what you do miss will probably be repeats. BIG UGLY CHEAP BASTARD REPEATS.

Rachel, you needn't think you're getting chocolates before the first competition just by drawing cartoons - tell her Bonky! Way too keen. It smells far too much of sheer desperation to me. I know you feel chocolate-deprived, but that's just taking it too far. And I didn't get the chance to do it first either, so there. I'm sure it should mean a putative choclate withdrawn right from the start to keep everyone on their toes. Unless that applied to me of course, then it wouldn't be fair. I've just had some coffee - can you tell?
