Not part of the apartment?

 Not part of the apartment? Errr... what the hell happened?
I built an apartment from scratch, and added only the basic things you'd get in a normal apartment, toliets, showers, counters, fridges and stoves.
Except the thing is, I put "the great divide" in some of the apartments to distinguish the difference between the kitchen and the living room, since I like open floor plans.
Except, now that I've moved sims in, the kitchen isn't "theirs". They can't cook normal meals except "juggle bottles" and "make" or "make many".
And it's not a hack problem, since this doesnt effect any other house, and doesnt effect the apartment in the same building that has a closed kitchen with normal walls.
What the hell happened?

Re: Not part of the apartment? Ahh, 'The great divide' is a fence, correct? Well, fences enclosing a certain area (excluding balconies) inside the apartment become communal areas; even when inside apartments. So fences are not usable.
