Will a Seasons EP Bring You Back?
From the beginning of The Sims franchise, the community has wanted weather in the game. The Sims 2 gave us our first taste.
For all you simmers who have stopped playing or don't play very much anymore, do you think a Seasons EP would bring you back or have you just moved on from the Sims series?

Re: Will a Seasons EP Bring You Back?
I don't play too much any more but I chose 'depends on if they did a good job' because I'm not just going to play because it's seasons. It still has to win me over like every other expansion.

I put "Other". I wouldn't mind a seasons, but I'm really craving a college expansion.

Re: Will a Seasons EP Bring You Back?
I would love to see a college EP again, too. I think Seasons would make me play more than I do now - I haven't quit playing but I don't play often and I rarely have marathons that last for hours and hours - but without some serious game play change along with it, weather won't change much for me.

Re: Will a Seasons EP Bring You Back?
I put "Other" too, because it's so late in the Sims 3 franchise timeline that I'd be just as tempted to hold off and wait for The Sims 4. They really should have introduced weather in the base game or the first EP.
Let's hope TS4 isn't as f***ed up (fouled up, ha ha) as TS3.

Re: Will a Seasons EP Bring You Back?
When it comes to TS4, if it's still in the hands of EA, then I think that it won't that it will be a good game.
There are SO many game developers out there that have games that are well developed and fully fleshed out.. EA really only has TS3 as a game that they can call "good" and that's saying something! They haven't been able to produce a sports game that's actually decent to play as and they haven't been able to produce anything else that's kind of playable other than TS3.
TS3 might be where the line ends for me... If EA makes TS4 then I really don't have high hopes for it. They're already selling us shitty stuff packs and expansion packs that make everyone go "wtf". Sometimes I wonder if they're just seeing how much shit we're gonna buy before someone stands up to them.

Re: Will a Seasons EP Bring You Back?
I am surprised that they're waiting so long to add weather and seasons to TS3 - is it really that difficult to do or are they "saving the best for last?" They really have been coming out with a lot of crap and it makes me long for the days when Maxis was running the Sims franchise. Now EA charges for every little thing they possible can - I mean, couldn't the Katy Perry Sweet Treats shit have been included in the Katy Perry Edition of Showtime?? They are trying to squeeze every cent they can out of us without really offering great stuff. It's disappointing, to say the least.
Right now, my computer is part of the reason I'm not playing much so I don't think adding another EP will make me play more since it will just make it run worse. It's sooooo frustrating because I bought the computer in October of last year specifically for TS3 and it was supposed to be a decent "gamer" computer but it crashes and lags so much and gets sooooo hot. I might try a new graphics card and maybe that will make me play more.

Seasons would probably have me play for a week, then I'd go back to playing nothing.

Probably not...unless they do something absolutely fantastic with it. Not sure what the chances of that are.
Really I'm just holding out hope that Sims 4 will come along eventually and I will be able to brush Sims 3 under the carpet and pretend it never happened.

Re: Will a Seasons EP Bring You Back?
Well that Katy Perry abortion comes out in a couple of months, so based on the past few years, SP7 should come out either in December or January. A bunch of random sites have it listed for a release just after SP6 though, which I'm hoping for. [edit] Yep, SP7 looks like it'll be released in July. And it's going to be another real-world-company-themed one - some clothing label named Diesel. Which I misunderstood as meaning we'd be getting another car-themed stuff pack.

I don't know, but it is by far the only Expansion Pack idea that has any chance of doing so.

They'll probably make it bland or not awesome and I'll be like, "Omg EA you screw everything up." But oh who knows, I'm an optimist and hold out hope they'll actually amaze us for once.

Re: Will a Seasons EP Bring You Back?
After reading about the survey, I'm getting more excited for a possible Seasons EP! Since Showtime came out in...March? I think that would mean the next EP should come out in October, shouldn't it?
Since they are just doing a survey about Seasons right now, that gives me little to no hope that the next EP will be weather-related though.

If you stop buying crap, EA will be perhapsmaybehopefully discouraged from churning out crap. I'm pretty much completely over TS3. When I do fire it up I get bored with it very quickly. I still play TS2 sometimes but mostly spend my game time with Skyrim and looking forward to Guild Wars 2.

Re: Will a Seasons EP Bring You Back?
I never played sims 2 seasons, which is supposedly the most awesome expansion pack ever, however i would definitely be interested if they made one for sims 3

I emerged from the beta weekend feeling overdosed on sugar and caffeine, and almost feeling like I couldn't be happy with any other game. I'm hoping for another beta time over Memorial Day weekend. Om nom nom.

Re: Will a Seasons EP Bring You Back?
My game is just fine without weather. I don't intend on purchasing (or even pirating it. Not worth taking up that much space on my computer) it if it is ever announced. If it isn't, oh well then. Not my problem.
