i didn't really care about spore much in the first place but i still got it. i got bored with it quite quickly. although the creatures a player could create were really diverse and unique, the basic gameplay was all the same, no matter what your creature looked like.

i don't think the game was open-ended enough, like sims is. it's more like some strategy game where you have to complete objectives to finish. eat-fight-mate-eat-fight-mate.... :yawnstretch:

Meh.

When i played the game for the first time, I had a lot of fun on the cell stage, espically when you have a probiscus, and you SUCK the life out of the cells. I liked that. It was an added touch. :smile2:

but once i got into the creature stage... I felt like that DRAGGED! And it's so hard to stay neutral. omivors are always starving, so when youre walking along the country side looking around for some nest to befriend or some fruits, your creature nearly dies before you do either. the game can only be played on two extreams. either be a friendly vegiterian, or a monsterious carnivor, and I didnt like that. I wanted there to be more "depth" to the personatilies, and the diets.

There's no point in making anything scary becayse the whole world looks like it came out of a Dr. Seuss book.

And civiliaztion stage was the worst, and the largest let down. I thought we'd ve able to plan our cities out better, but you just have these pre-selected ares. I remeber cities being bigger and freeer in that 35min video. :indifferent:

I didnt beat civilaztion stage yet, because my game keeps crashing, and I'm too lazy to turn it back on.

Tribal stage can be beaten in 10 minutes on friendly which is stupid. 30 mintues if you're aggresive.

the game is TOO easy if you just kill everybody. The game is also TOO easy if you befriend everybody, but the game is so freaking demanding with tipping the scale. It's impossible to be economic or "blue" just because of the mouth you picked for your cell stage. :grumpy:

i mean I had fun in the begining making my creature, but then... I was let down.

Now my boyfriend ADORES the game. He can't get enough of it. But I think this is because he didnt have the expectations I had. He never followed it.

Well said! I was expecting alot, but the game is too cartoonish. Too silly, for my taste.
And also, I liked cell stage, but after that it started to get a bit boring and obvious of what was going to happen next. :yuck:

I played, I enjoyed, I left it on my shelf...

Seriously, it is very fun and sometimes irritating (I hate creature and tribal stage). You start as a cell, you go up on land, start a tribe, enters a civilisation and goes to space. Then while you're in space it got rather pointless and well, boring. BUT THEN(!!!) we got ... *drum roll* GALACTIC ADVENTURES!

... Which was also just yet another let down. It was basically just creature stage with tactical weapons and powerups with a twist of quest like "Missions". I mean, I like spore and all but after you reach the core, get that staff, reach sol and have interstellar drive 5 it gets kinda boring... And don't get me started on how much those Grox is a pain in the ass (all tho they are kinda cuteish). I find Spore at a 7/10 points because its rather-low-replay-quality
