 Developer Mail
Source: http://simoperations.com/?page_id=83Via SimOperations' link to developer mail, did anyone catch that last bit in the final paragraph? (I'm not exactly sure when this information from Ben Bell was published.) Quote: The third thing that I really want to share with you about The Sims 3 is that everyone will be able to customize the appearance of everything, right in the game: This is true for furniture, walls, floors, fashion, hair, and so much more. You will be able to customize the colors or patterns and apply them to everything (this is great for me in particular, as I am colorblind). You can make everything match, clash, or coordinate. It is so easy and fast, and it is incredibly powerful. What is really exciting is that you won’t need developer tools to make big visual changes to the game. We will be giving you a small taste of how this works on the website. However, I cannot wait to show you how fun this feature is when we have the final user interface in the game. The real power of this feature will be obvious when you get your hands on it. Fans of The Sims already make amazing things, and now it will be so much easier for to make and share creations. It appears that they'll be pre-releasing a demo of the Create-a-Style tool before the actual release of the game.

 Re: Developer Mail
As much as I would like to believe we would be getting a Create-A-Style demo, I think that this might just be a video, or an in-depth blog, etc. Besides, how would a Create-A-Style demo work by itself? UNLESS it was to be rolled in with say... A Create-A-Sim demo.

 Re: Developer Mail
Well, I posted it! I think Ben Bell meant something like videos and the developer walkthroughs. If a demo was to be published, I'm sure they would have done it before. They made the decision to delay the game 17 days before original release. If they were going to be a demo, wouldn't have been out before 17 days prior to the release.
And it's great to see everybody using my site! I've had my site open for a month, and reached 2000 visitors. In the last 24 HOURS, I've got another 1000!

If they release a CAS demo either they decided with the wait it's the best way to keep the fans happy.. OR they knew they weren't going to make their Feb 20th release date. I think they are still working on the game, honestly. I don't think they're gonna sit on a finished game for months. There is always room for improvement. Now they can add more traits =D

Honestly I don't think they ever planned to release it in Feb.

 Re: Developer Mail
I think the video that showing about Create a Style is already released. EA plan to releasing a demo/guide about how to do it, I just feel there nothing great about it, it just applying the texture, right? Select which surface you want to change the texture, and then find and select the texture you want to apply, the game will automaticly update the surface instantly. Or there's something else......

If you say it like that, sure... Its about being able to put your own personal touch on everything in the game. Not just slapping colours on stuff.
