Post Bonus if you have The Sims 2 installation on your HDD
Quota from: KachuSims.net http://www.kachusims.net/portal.php?pag=sims3/eventoen

Both Sims 3 and Sims 2 can be installed in the same computer and they will work normally
Still unconfirmed a connection between Sims 3 and Sims 2

It means a bonus object .... or you can import The Sims 2 funiture, clothes, animation...and even custom contents??

I hope so....

I doubt it. The Sims 3 is a new game, new graphics engine, etc. Sims 2 objects wouldn't fit into The Sims 3.

I strongly doubt that you will be able to transfer objects and things.

The furniture is just 3D mesh, so importing to the Sims3 is not so complicated, I think.

The animation...I heard from somewhere, that The Sims 3 has many animation that similiar or import from the Sims 2. Maybe....but if true, there's a change to import animation from Sims 2.

The cloth...may be a little problem. The muscle and fat adjustment, may be it is hard to apply to the Sims 3. As long as they have the same animation bone....there's still a change too.

I just hope that EA give a change to import almost all of The Sims 2 and exp pack objects to be import to The Sims 3.

Well, yeah, possible but not plausible.

In early testing stages (And possibly recently), EA will use object bases from TS2, as the same for using TS1 objects for TS2. By the final development, they replace these objects with new, higher quality ones. Same with animations. The animations in TS3 are going to be far more complicated and higher quality, and TS2 wont be able to compare to TS3.

Sorry, bub.

Yeah sure. Why not just import some creatures from spore aswell?

I believe on a technical scale, TS2 and TS3 are as different as TS2/3 and Spore. Its a completely NEW game ppl...

It could be like the connection between The Sims 2 DS and The Sims 2 GBA: A new minigame. Maybe there might be something like you could buy a copy of The Sims 2 in game to play!???

It has been stated by EA many times that there will be NO import capabilities with TS3.

If you want to transfer something it would need to be remade with a new TS3 compatable thrid party program.

Sorry, Nope. Doesnt work that way. TS3 is a brand new game, and from the greater outlook, they started from scratch.
Yeah, Yeah, i know that in the early begining they used TS2 meshes, but they as EA are the only people who could do that.

If your soooo worried about your precious TS2 objects to get into TS3, make them yourself.

If there is even a possibility to import meshes...

Thinking about it last night i guess i could see something like where if you have AL installed on your PC when you install TS3 you will get some sort of bonus content.

There have been a fair share of games which have used this method. It encourages new players to go back and buy previous titles.

One of the many money making gimics in the gaming industry.

If not the furniture objects, clothes mesh, animation or anything else. So what is the bonus EA will give to?

May be there's already in The Sims 3 installation file, but it wont appear in the game because you don't have The Sims 2 in your HDD.

I've tried so hard not to mention how silly the idea is that we might get some perk because we have the sims 2 installed.
We didn't get anything close to that with the transition from TS1 to TS2, so I wouldn't expect or hold my breath for anything resembling that in the future.

And keep in mind that EA is trying to draw in NEW gamers ... some who have probably never played any games in The Sims franchise.

I think it depends if the shadows is made as a texture or it is made in game and realistic. Not so easy to understand for most of you, but I could only explain it better oral.

Example: Shadows on Xbox 360 does not have anything with the sun to do.. It is just textures, no lighting ingame makes the shadow in realtime. On PS3, there is a support for that ability. The sun in Gran Turismo 5 lights at the 3D object and makes a realistic shadow of the car as it drives and rotates.

The sims 2 is Xbox, TS3 is PS3.

That makes it hard to convert.

May be a direct import is impossible. But in the sims 2, I sometimes import object from different source, like using *.obj. May be that way can be use to import it to TS3, off course with automatic import and let the software do the rest.

I read something a while back. Unfortunately I don't remember where. Anyway, apparently a lot of people were a little confused. There is some individuals that thought they would have to literally uninstall TS2 in order to install and play TS3. Granted if your hard drive is not large enough for both programs then yes, you may have to uninstall the 1st. The way I see the post, it was just clarification that both programs can work on the same computer. I don't see people getting any kickbacks because they have both installed on the computer.

Of course they wouldn't, because they are two completely different games. Not that hard to get a grip on. :faint:
