Post Sims 3 on console: two story houses
If you look at the middle pic on the snooty sims website...the one where they are out on the patio barbecuing...the house in the background across the street looks like a two story. Wat do u think?

WHY ARE YOU SHOUTING? STOP SHOUTING!

Duh, it looks like the computer game; it was originally developed for consoles of this generation anyways.

Two-story? Am I the only one who isn't shocked about a two-story house in the sims, or am I missing something? I thought you could always build multiple stories in the sims?

The sims 2 console versions wouldn't let you have 2 story houses. I hope that ceilings are also included. I'm so use to them now. I'm also excited because sims are no longer confined to homelots like they were in the sims 2 console versions. I'm also excited that weather is being included.

The game for PS3 & 360 are shaping up to be a direct port of the PC version, so almost exactly the same game, which is good for people who can't play it on the PC. However, the Wii version will be downgraded a lot and probably have a storymode. Those screenshots are from the next-gen consoles only, so expect everything you can do in the PC version.

The Wii probably could do most of the features, at least if coded correctly.

But knowing EA, they'd take the easy way out.

The Beach Town will probably be really small or split up into different sections with loading screens between them. The Wii hasn't got the power to run The Sims 3 like the PC, PS3 & 360 can.

Are you referring to the ceilings inside? The Sims on console has already got that, it was in The Sims 2 Pets, however im not sure if Castaway had it.

I am interested as to how weather will be done on the next gen consoles. We have had weather on the console since 2004, but it has never had any gameplay altering effects other than sims taking a run for it and holding an umbrella/newspaper. And of course so far it has just been rain and wind.

I mean ceilings inside houses. I played pets on the ps2 but never noticed ceilings.

Im 80% sure they were there if you zoomed right in. It was certainly in one of them.

On PC the town is split up, and loaded in the background as needed, I'm sure all the platforms will do the same.

Those except the Wii and DS platforms which do not have the graphic capabilities to pull off a full seamless neighborhood and will therefore be standalone games which are not a port of the PC version however very much like previous games on those platforms.

The town is not split up on the PC version, this is why so many people have problems trying to run the game. The whole neighbourhood is loaded at once, but the spirit of every lot you can't see are there, but require you to move your mouse over them to load so they can "pop" in, which is fine for high-end PCs, but for the most it causes a lot of lag.

When your Sims are in their cars, the game tries to load every single lot you go past, which doesn't make sense because you're only seeing them for a split second.

It could be just for marketing purposes
