Post The Sims 3: Commemorative Edition
Alright, just went onto EB Games website to check out whether Ambitions was (finally) avaliable for preorder, when what did I spy but The Sims 3: Commemorative Edition. The fourth version of the Base Game to come out, it'll be released the same time as Ambitions.
Includes:
48 Page quality hard-backed book
Wall poster
Sketch book of artwork
Access to additional digital assets
The Sims 3 PC game

...that thing that looks like a sticker sheet with plumbobs on it, if you take a closer look it's actually a build-your-own 3D plumbob.

They'll do anything to tack on a few more dollars to the original price  (as if the base game wasn't expensive enough)

They would make a lot more sales if they offered all the commemorative stuff without the game.

Exactly. Greed. I mean do we really even need any of that, like really? SMH

It's the kind of stuff that will be entertaining for about 10 minutes, then all of a sudden it's lost somewhere in a desk drawer never to be seen again.

Blah. I hate it when companies do that. Who is going to buy the commemorative edition? If I was new to the Sims games and was going to buy TS3 a full year after it was released, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't buy into the "commemorative edition" crap and pay extra for it, I'd just buy the regular, cheaper game. And it's true, that stuff would be cool for a minute, then it would be packed away and looked at only when you had to re-install the game after new patches come out. :pissed:

Actually, I'm just jealous. I want a plumbob.

It's listed as $108 Australian dollars, which is the same price as the Collectors Edition is over here at the moment. I'm guessing it'll be $60-70USD.

I know that I'll see it in EB Games... try to resist buying it, but end up getting it just because.

I'd only get it for the book. Everything else isn't worth it.
