My husband works in the electronics department at a wal mart near St.Louis and he said they recieved ts3 yesterday. He said they got 60 of the collectors edition and 60 of the plain game. He said it was covered in tape and stickers that said do not sell before June 2nd.

This is good for us because all of those other time they released Sims games or expansion packs they always had a certain release date so you'd have to play the waiting game or go from store to store to see who has the game yet. The stores always seemed to get the game days later.
So if my husband's wal mart has it then other stores should be getting it too right?

It's nothing huge but I was really excited when he told me.

They usually do get them early. I remember when TS2 came out WalMart put their's on the shelf 2 days early despite being told to wait until that Friday. I canceled my pre-order from Amazon and went out and bought it. It made my day since I was really sick that week and could barely sleep.

Only 60? Shouldnt they have more?

My local Gamestop, where I have the game and the Prima guide preordered, has had them just sitting in the storeroom for a week. So near and yet so far....

Well they had 60 of each. I'm sure they'll be getting more. The main clientele that shops at his wal mart isn't into the sims too much.

Well if my local Walmart (in South Georgia) has the Sims 3 Collector's Edition already in stock, I'm going to take the chance on persuading them into giving me a copy! I'll beg and use my puppy dog eyes if I have to!

I'm not going in to buy a sims game any time soon, as I was really sad when I went to buy The Sims 2 on the day of release and it had sold out but I got it eventually. Was well worth it!

60 is a lot to have--and that's each. So they actually have 120 Sims 3 copies. That's really good news. So I won't have to feel the need to rush to Wal-Mart at midnight to get my copy. It's good to hear they have them in.

I don't know if you've noticed how wal-mart advertises new arrivals by the front doors on posters? I remember TS2 being on a poster, so I was worried when I hadn't seen any TS3 advertisements at all. It's good to hear that Wal-Mart is getting shipments in, because that's where I had planned on buying my version.

My local Walmart had the ads up last week but I just got back from there and they were down this week.
I asked one of the girls in the electronics if they were gonna release at midnight but she said I would have to ask the night crew and to call after 10. So I'll be calling tonight, then calling again Monday morning to double-check. I'm sure they will, and I love getting stuff at midnight. Something fun about it. Maybe because it feels a little rebellious to be out that late, especially at a store.

Oooohh Lucky! Yeah I was starting to wonder if I was making The Sims 3 completely up in my imagination. I hadn't seen any actual advertising until the commercial during American Idol. I'm glad to hear you've seen advertising at Wal-Mart. I was starting to wonder if they were going to get it! They're almost clean out of TS2 games. Good to hear Wal-Mart release news.

Wait so Wal-Mart will have the game open to buy for costumers on June 2nd?

I wonder if I can get my copy from GameStop early. The workers act clueless when you ask about it, though.

All UK stores have been sitting gathering dust for 2 weeks. I do hope the store actaully puts the guide on the shelf unlike all TS2 EP's which i had to ask for them to get it from the back!

Do you know about Ireland having the game.
Cause my local Gamestop said they mightnt have it on the day....

Well I tried to get a copy of the CE from one of my walmarts and they told me I had to wait until June 2nd....or the 6th! I'm going to call all of the walmarts in my area to find out which ones have it in the back before I rush over there again
