Re: Barnacle Bay Town coming to the sims 3 store this Fall
Bahh, it confuses me why they're making us pay for this, crappy, sunset valley clone of a neighborhood when they gave us Riverview for free, and Twinbrook and Bridgeport for a bit more, when they contain new features?
No way am I going to be purchasing this crappy, fake pirate theme, for such a sickly price. I hate you, EA.

Back on topic, even if I DID want a pirate themed town, I'd want a small island, not a giant waste of space like this, i'm fed up of massive towns, i'd much rather have a smaller one, and come to think of it again, they seem to be showing off the beach area from the pictures we've had so far... and what can we do on the beach? Nothing. Exactly, can't do anything on them. it's too bad because they do look nice. I think EA can charge for new N'hoods. In fact if they add a new n'hood for a stuff pack and make it a theme that is sort of out there like a moon-base or a different time period I would buy that. Like a futuristic hood or even one in the past...just something different. Also.... That IGN interview they don't even answer all the questions Quote: IGN: Will things like peg legs, eye patches and hook hands become available in the Sim creator? EA: There are 7 new pirate-themed clothing and accessory items included with Barnacle Bay. You can dress any Sim you create as a pirate! These new assets include hats, boots and pirate clothing. Yay 7 new items...

Re: Barnacle Bay Town coming to the sims 3 store this Fall
I have come to learn, when EA answer a question with a very vague answer that doesn't really cover it, it means NO :] Unless its a completely stupid question, like the one about ninjas, they don't care if they say no, but if its something they should have added, they answer very vaguley, but NO is the answer :)

Really, because all I see right now on the EA forums is people whining and complaining about it and how it's so stupid. There seems to be WAY more negativity about it than people liking the idea.

Yes i see the perks of getting the town but why does it have to cost so much. EA is just so greedy, it should really be free or at most 10 simpoints. Anything more is laughable.

Well, it must be worth their while, otherwise they wouldn't do it, so most of the people on the official forums must end up buying it... like slp.

Re: Barnacle Bay Town coming to the sims 3 store this Fall
For those of you complaining there is nothing to do at the beach I agree but just wait swimming in the ocean is coming in a future ep. How do I know? Because the wii version will let sims swim in the ocean and also sunbathe. It's just a matter of time before that feature will come to the pc version. It will probebly be in ep 4 which will most likely be seasons and weather.
I expect in the future there will be more to do at the beaches prehaps even vollyball will be added. I mean look what were gettting with Late Night hottubs. We will be able to place them on the beaches. That will be one more thing our sims can do on the beach.

Just because the wii version has swimming in the ocean, that means nothing about the PC version, they're completeley seperate games..

The console versions also have karma powers, which I'm sure we won't be getting on the PC. Ever.

Re: Barnacle Bay Town coming to the sims 3 store this Fall
It can be seen as quite likely for there to later be more activities to do at the beach other than collecting, grilling and playing chess (among a few others), however i don't see reassurance in the fact that the Wii version of the game hasthe ability to swim in the ocean.
I mean its not like the two are running the same engine and the code could be directly transfered if they wished. All it is, is that the developers working on the Wii version of the game decided that it was a feature they wished to have in their game, more likely having no relation to anything happening in the future of the PC version.

Re: Barnacle Bay Town coming to the sims 3 store this Fall
It 'better' eventually have swimming and more activities at the beach. They'd be stupid not to include it. I think it's dumb we have to wait so long to even get some weather
Personally I'd like to see them expand on the whole swimming thing and give us different kinds of boats, which sims can fish from or jump off of and swim around, or even act as a rabbit hole and have them sleep in their boat. Then when a storm starts to brew you get a warning that says "Uh oh, you better get to shore or you'll be the next victim of the sea and be sent to Davy Jones locker!" or something along those lines

Re: Barnacle Bay Town coming to the sims 3 store this Fall
Hey, Thats not a bad idea, having yachts and things in the ocean, which would be a huuuuuge lot Even if it was just a boat that was moored, like the pirate ship in ts2, it would be SOMETHING extra to do... hey, they could include that pirate ship with the new pirate town... not that i'd be getting it, but i'd get ahold of the objects...

Re: Barnacle Bay Town coming to the sims 3 store this Fall
Wouldn't all the sims lose their pirate outfits once they age up? it seems very time consuming to have t keep changing everyones clothes back t the original pirate theme

Yes, they would, and its' only for YA and A too, and of course, only 2 or 3 variations, meaning in other words that the pirateyness is very limited.

Re: Barnacle Bay Town coming to the sims 3 store this Fall
I wish we could set a theme for the neighbourhood. Like if we were able to set a few default outfits for sims aging up, then we could have themes like certain decades and the pirate thing would work

Re: Barnacle Bay Town coming to the sims 3 store this Fall
I don't really care about the pirate outfits. I may be taking some pictures of this new world once I get it downloaded. Here is a new video demo of Barnacle Bay that just come out today 9-18-10. http://www.simprograms.com/25305/sims-t ... emo-video/At 0:32 she says the Calientie Sisters are one of the new families so Nina and Dina will be located here. Don was in Riverview.
