I wouldn't mind an magic expansion, as long as you can play the game without meeting spells and hexes every day. If they do make this though, I think it'll be one of the last expansions.

I don't want anything like that until they make an EP that improves on the EVERYDAY LIVES of our sims. Not some crazy Indiana Jones adventure, not magic. I want businesses, pets, seasons, and something like nighlife before anything like that comes out.

And what's wrong with merging magic with nightlife, or pets? I think a magic part to a pets EP would be great since a witch can have a feline familiar.

.....I never said there was anything wrong with merging magic with other EP's, I just wouldn't buy an EP that was only about magic. I buy the Sims games to simulate life, not play some fanciful adventurous RPG. Thats why they're called "sims". If magic was included in another EP, I would most likely not play that aspect of the game very much.

I too do not want a Magic EP, I hated makin' magic for the sims 1 it just felt silly. Although I didn't mind the injection of witches for The Sims 2 as it was just a little bit and something you could avoid if desired.

I never even bought makin' magic. It was the one EP that I knew for sure I didn't want to get. Witches in the sims 2 were fine, I'm just glad they didn't make an entire EP around them. I only like realisitic EPs

I would prefer realistic EPs over fantasy ones as well. I got Makin' Magic just for the sake of having Makin' Magic, and the only thing I liked about it was the dragons as pets - way cute. The only thing I really liked with the witches of Apartment Life were the feline familiars, because that was way cute (can you tell what EP I'm waiting for? haha), and the teleport option. Saved a lot of time and grief when I had a huge apartment complex where everyone left at the same time to work at 8am.

I agree that if an EP weren't based entirely on magic, it would be a lot more appealing. If anything, it should be nothing more than a bonus and not so much a base idea.

I would like the broomstick travel back, it would be cool to see a lot of sims on broomsticks wizzing round

I would love a mgic EP. I don't want my game to be uber realistic, because I might as well live my own life.

And as mch as i want a magic ep I do agree that everyday stuff should come first. I just hope its not the absolute last ep.

In my humble opinion I think makin magic was a great expansion pack and was a great end to the ts1 era. They didn't do that theme in the sims 2 era but it would be awesome with TS3. I doubt it will be made though unless enough people demand it.

I think the magic expansions are pretty kidyish.
It was fun to have witches but an entire expansion devoted to magic?
sounds pretty lame if you ask me

if they go through the route of magic, then i think i want more witch type things, instead of magician type of magic. although, to perform street magic, or something like a card trick in the park would be an interesting thing to incorporate. but i've always liked the idea of sim creatures.

I despised the Makin' Magic EP, but the idea of witches in The Sims 2 where you didn't have every family conjuring magic was a great idea. I really hope they interpret it into a Pets or Nightlife EP, but really want Pets or a decent OFB sequel first.

a decent ofb remake?

i'm sorry to break it to you, but ambitions was that.

we can only have so many expansions before the release of the sims 4. i'll bet there's going to be 6 more, if not 7. they could do either 8 or 9 expansions in total.

I read somewhere that there would be like 15 eps for ts3... I could have got that wrong though, and I can't remember the source..

Anyways, I liked makin' magic a lot, I thought it was awsome, and I agree with above... If you can't stand it to be just slightly out of the ordinary and fantasyish, why not just go and live your own life? I play the sims to do things i couldn't do every day, not to watch my sim do what I could be doing at the same time...

Again, I said DONT QUOTE ME ON THAT!
I could be wrong, but i'm positive I read that somewhere! :P

Anyways, wouldn't 15 be better than 7 then starting all over again??? That way you get a longer life out of all your EPs!

(would also make sense why they didn't make the graphics CUTTING EDGE if they'res going to be that many eps??)

whaat.. charlie, i'm convinced you are crazy right now.

15 expansions.. think of the money that would make them. but it is way too many. it'd take up too much space.

i was thinking how they'd probably do 9 expansions for the sims 3. maybe 10 if they really wanted to keep going. because there was 7 for sims 1, and 8 for sims 2. but they are sort of rushing release dates right now, so i hope they're not doing that because they want to get 13 more expansions out quickly.
