Post EP/Stuff pack Idea (babies, toddlers, and children)
i think it would be a cute EP/or stuff pack because babies&toddlers don't get that much stuff-

Pregnancy:
Baby showers-Expectant mothers will be able to have baby showers at any time throughout pregnancy
Classes for moms-Pregnant moms could go to he hospital and take a class on birthing or parenting.
Parenting/Baby books- Sims could read parenting/baby books to gain skills to take care of their families.(sort of the way
you could read up on parenting and sense what babies were telling you in sims 2)
Baby/Toy store-Sims can come here to pick up things they need for their children or to buy gifts for their friends who
are expecting.
Day care-Parents could drop off their children when they need to go somewhere or they can work here if they have a love
for kids.(babies, toddlers,& children welcome. They can build skills and make new friends while at day care.)
Cravings-There could be little pop-ups that tell you when your sims are craving certain foods and they can fix them or order
them.
ALL OF THESE ACTIVITIES COULD COME WITH MOODLETS OR COULD BE SOME OF THE SMALLER WISHES THAT YOUR SIMS CAN ACHIEVE.

Babies:
As we all know in the sims 2 all you can really do with babies is give them a bottle hold them or put them in the crib.
Well no more!
Rocking chairs- Now parents can rock their babies to sleep
Baby monitors-This is kinda self explanitory
Baby swings-Babies can be put in here and rock back and forth while parents get things done around the house.
(example of one http://www.toysrus.com/product/prodpop. ... totCount=0)
Changing table-Im not sure why they got rid of it but they should bring it back. A nursery isn't complete without one.
Stationary entertainers- Babies need stimulation this would be a great item for babies to play in.
(example- http://www.toysrus.com/product/prodpop. ... totCount=0)
Baby gyms&playmats-something else to stimulate your babies growing mind.
(example- http://www.toysrus.com/product/prodpop. ... totCount=0)
Baby baths-babies need baths too and its unrealistic to bathe them in an adult size tub.
(example- http://www.toysrus.com/product/prodpop. ... totCount=0)
Strollers&carseats-You should be able to take babies and toddlers out with you so you would need these and it would be cute.
Pacifiers would be a cute accessory for babies and toddlers also. And bibs!
Mobiles-to hang over the cribs or the ones that play music

Toddlers:
Highchairs should of course make a come back if they aren't already in the base game.
Playards- so you don't have to worry about your toddlers finding the nearest toilet to dive head first into!
(example- http://s7d5.scene7.com/s7ondemand/zoom/ ... u=p4279314)
Riding toys-just a fun activity for toddlers.
(example- http://s7d5.scene7.com/s7ondemand/zoom/ ... u=p3407067)
Wagons-This could be an alternative to strollers or toddlers & kids could pull each other in them.
(example- http://www.toysrus.com/product/prodpop. ... totCount=0)
More things for toddlers to play/interact with-Books,stuffed animals, rattles, train tracks,& they should have finger paints
for toddlers!

Children:
Some cool new items&lots to include-
Coloring books
Treehouses
sandbox
dress up box
tire swings
video games
kites
sprinklers
Kiddie pools
lemonade stands
Bunk beds
Ice cream stands
Toy stores
Candy stores
New and Old Activities/interactions-
Playing pattycake
Catching butterflies/fireflies
playing cops & robbers
Hide n seek
Climbing trees
sleepovers
campouts
swim lessons
dance class
art class
sports teams-they could take them at the big stadium in town
rollerblading
bike riding
bed time stories
The option to tuck in children
Blowing bubbles
Sidewalk chalk

New foods&snacks:
Pickles
Pop or Soda
Chicken fingers
Fries
Hot dogs
Burgers
Carrot sticks
String Cheese
Fruit snacks
Chicken noodle soup
tomatoe soup
grilled cheese(not sure if this is in the base game?)
Pizza
Chinese
Ice cream(in a variety of flavors of course)
Various candies
Cupcakes
Smores

Traits:I can't really think of any right now but feel free to add on your ideas here!!

Could you not post the exact same thread twice?
Your thread, right below this one, "Tell me what you think of this NEW ep idea." is identical to this one.

Wow, this was well thought out! BRAVO! I really like the idea. This is, man, SO brilliant! I really hope that EA releases more Expansion packs that are more down to the point, unlike "heres the expansion pack with apartments, oh yeah, witches too". I really like this idea

haha yea they love to just throw random things together but at least they try to give us everything we want. I just think with the sims 3 we need to see some fresh ideas with expansions. Since the game is a bigger and better version we need bigger and better EPs!

This is probably the best expansion pack idea I've ever heard of. :excited:
It's always bothered me that babies and toddlers were just kind of, there.

And it's always been a very unrealistic part of the game, too, because in the real world adults go nuts over little ones, and in the game they usually seem like they could care less. I would love for my Sim parents to be able to do more with their kids, and for them to just be able to do more in general.

I also think we should ba able to dress babies, instead of keeping them wrapped in blankets.

A few other things that could be added are small toys for babies and toddlers, like these:

http://trus.imageg.net/graphics/product ... 565reg.jpg
http://trus.imageg.net/graphics/product ... 737reg.jpg

In general, I'd like to see A BIG IMPROVEMENT on the overall gameplay around babies and toddlers.

Maybe a kindergarden/youth center would be put in the EP so that kids can learn skills and be watched after. Of course this would be optional and there would be a fee. It could also allow other sims to apply for a part time job here. To not defeat the purpose of babysitters, the price to enroll your toddler would be more expensive and takes place only during the day.

That's a really good idea, too!
And maybe we could even have like, a kid themed swim park or something.

There is obviously a niche for this...
Didn't one of the The Sims 2 expansion packs include quite a lot of baby stuff?

And they will surely keep throwing "random stuff together", held only loosely together by a theme, that's how they get everyone to buy all expansions.

If they release a Family Expansion pack with all the family stuff, and another with all the weird stuff (like aliens) then Family interested Players will only buy the first one, while the players who love messing with aliens, zombies and vampires will only buy that one. Much better for business to mix both, or better yet, mix them up with five other expansions, at least in part. That way everyone will have some measure interest in everything.

EA carefully spreads their features over multiple Expansion Packs. A very smart move.

Post Re: EP/Stuff pack Idea (babies, toddlers, and children)
I really like this idea. So well thought out. The younger ages were really forgotten in TS2. I've always wanted a baby monitor because I hated trying to squeeze a crib into the parents room. I usually didn't pay enough attention so if the baby cried and the time didn't slow down I never noticed. [EDIT: I'm talking about TS2 in the past tense?!]

Here are a few of my ideas if you don't mind (Sorry if they have already been said but there was a lot to go through  ) :

Items-
Giant Trampoline (This could be used for all ages)
Trading Cards
Backpacks (If not in base game)
Playpen (Maybe same as a playard)

Traits-
Picky eater
Bully
Know It All
Fussy/Whiney

I'm not sure if traits are or would ever be age specific.

Actions/interactions/Misc-
Parents can make kids/teens a bagged lunch for school.
Mooch kids can get homework done by genius/bookworm kids.
Kids can suck up to their teachers.
Pregnant Sims can get advice from other Sims who have gone through child birth.
Parents can donate money to their children's school.
Parents are able to take time off of work to go on field trips with their kids.
Parents can join a PTA.
Kids can go to summer camp. (If there is a seasons EP)
Ice cream truck can roam the streets (Mentioned in another thread Here )

^^ those are great ideas. There are so many things EA could do with an EP like this. They could add all kinds of activities & interactions for teens, children, & toddlers. Because really the Sims is usually so focused on the Adult life stage. But yea this is just what I think lol. It would be cool if they actually did something like this! :XD:

I totally agree. They've been so neglected in the past, I'd be happy if they just Incorporated these things in other expansion packs.

that would be worse then any of the 15 expansions we already got; even living large and BV added more gameplay then that

I never said it had to be a EP dedicated to just this stuff. I would like them to add more stuff for kids in sims3 though. if you don't like the idea fine but don't be rude about it. That act gets super old really fast :coolguy:
