what about maybe a reality TV EP?

you could audition for things such as

Big Brother-you could do tasks and nominate and even do an interview and if you dont get in you could go to an eviction and make banners for it.
Im a celebrity get me out of here-do all the tasks to get stars again do interviews.
Come dine with me-you could make a meal for other prople and go to their houses aswell and give them ratings out of 10.
Britains/Americas got Talent-if your sim has a special talent why not try out for Britians/Americas got talent and do what your sim does best.

Take away the reality-only concept, expand on more media, such as music industry, modeling and acting and we're okay. :3

yeh expand a bit more and also what about a behind the scenes part such as directing and costume designing

I always liked the idea of something like this. Have sims actually shooting movies/tv shows. Reality Tv, Game Shows, Sitcoms, Soaps, news channels and others. Sims that love the outdoors could shoot wildlife documentaries.

Although we're kind of marching in on "The Movies" territory here....but that wouldn't really be a bad thing considering I don't think "The Movies" is in any way active any more.
