Post Lots of ideas for expansion packs that EA should consider
Well, here there are ideas that have been in my mind to make The Sims 3 a much better game and what I really want: the best of the three The Sims games so far.

It's very likely that some ideas have been posted by some of you. It's not that I'm copying you, it's just that we think alike. :-) I would appreciate that you comment about my post and include your own ideas. Hopefully someone from EA checks this forum.

Here it goes:

- An EP based on entertainment. Maybe somewhat like hobbies, but focusing more on neighbourhood activities. It could include a circus, a zoo, an aquatic park and a theater. I would love that most if not all of this places are not rabbit-holes! The zoo would have free animal running in it. No animals in jails, please! You could drive around in a jeep, taking pictures of lions, elephants and bears (maybe Claire is there!). In the aquatic park you could watch seal, dolphins and penguin shows. You could even participate and ride the dolphins! Hopefully your sim is not hydrophobic.

You could practice the new ability that would be available after you get more than 5 charisma points: acting. Your sim could buy scripts and practice in front of the mirror or with other sim. Then you can apply for a job at the theater. It could help if you improve your physical and creativity abilities as well. In there you would participate in plays and gain fame points with each successful presentation. It's good to have good relationship with critics. Maybe you could invite them to eat out or give them some nectar as a gift. The acting on stage would be somewhat similar to the one in Superstar. You could decide to act over the top, dramatic, comical and physically in each different scene. It's important to participate in rehersals before the main act!

You could also obtain a job as director if you have high creativity and writing abilities. You could set the stage. Hopefully you'll have money to buy good furniture and stuff for your set and nice exclusive costume clothes for your actresses and actors. You could hire your cast and decide the best character for each. Beware about their traits. Maybe a shy actor is not such a good choice after all. But a childish actor could be just fine for a comical part.

You could also have ventrilocuism, puppeteers and mimes in this EP!

- A Seasons and farming EP. So many people have posted this idea that I'm lead to believe that EA could listen to us! Seasons would include much of the features from the expansion pack for The Sims 2. Maybe they could include winter and summer holidays. In winter you could practice sports like skiing, iceskating and of course have snowball fights! In summer you could go to the beach and sunbathe to get a nice tan and also go practice surfing on the waves! Scubadiving is so cool as you can look underwater and see all the fish and take pictures of them! You could even sell those pictures to the Simnature magazine! Be careful with sharks though!

Farming would be completely connected to the seasonal aspect. Shearing your sheep in winter is not such a good idea! And a greenhouse could protect your plants from rabbits and bad weather. You could use tractor trucks, shovels, etc to work on your crop. Using the shovel you lead to find interesting studd, maybe even a pirate treasure! Beware if crop circles start showing up in the morning. Maybe someone is abducting your sheep and cows during night! How are you supposed to sell milk if you have no cows? And talking about selling, you could work as a milkman. After your cow so kindly give you their milk you could use your truck and go around the city leaving the milk in all the houses that asked for the service. If your cows eat well you could sell your milk for quite a few simoleans as it would make sims pretty healthy. You could also sell wool, cotton for the fashion designing company and corn, wheat for the food production factory. Giant tomatoes and lettuce could sell well in the grocery store.

- Give us zoning like in Simcity 4, so we can have poor, rich, urban, farm, industrial and commercial zones. In each zone lots would have very different prices and would give your sim different moodlets for living in them. People would drive different types of cars in different zones. You will see a lot of tractor trucks in the farming zone. It's much more common to see ducks in the lake in here. And You could find different NPCs in each one too. You could have hobos in the poor zone of town as well as grafitty painters, break dancers and more burglars than in other places. You should better get a cat (as soon as there's a Pets EP) as in this place of town there are more rats than in other cleaner places. In the urban zone you would get grafitty painters, break dancers as well as skaters. You could always give your sim a skate to go around if you live in the rich zone, but other snob sims would look down on you, which would give you a bad moodlet depending on your traits. This place is pretty boring, but snob sims love it! That way the city would look varied. Sims get a bad moodlet for living or visiting the industrial zone, but there are many job opportunities in here, so maybe the extra money will make it worth it for your sim. Again it all depends on your sim moodlets.

- Some UI changes. Please stack all items in my inventory automatically. Why would I want six eggs to be separated from the other six? I why should I put them together one by one? Just put them all together! Also let me drag an object from the inventory to any townie or NPC sim to give it as a gift. Also make different objects as an ideal or horrible gift depending on the traits of the other sim.

Thanks @ Buttercup

I really like how they're making EPs in The Sims 3, in which they put some old ideas alongside new ideas which we haven't had before. By the fourth, fifth pack I already expect it to be much better than TS2, so let's expect they listen to us, as I think they are. :-)

I just want them to use my rabbit hole idea instead of single building rabbit holes. In summery, basically making the school classrooms and actual theater rooms the rabbit holes instead of the entire complex.
