HP Pavillion series, I have one and it runs TS1, 2 and 3 great, although I had to upgrade to 4GB RAM and get a few ex. harddrives.

Then that's probably not the best laptop for his needs. He wants something cheap that he doesn't have to upgrade and put even more money into just to play a game. Although good luck finding one that will without upgrades that actually meets your budget

Well, that's the thing, I don't just use to play a game, I do my school work on it, make mods, etc.

That's why it's hard to find just a cheapo computer or laptop that will play games in high quality without lag, normally gaming computers arent that cheap. Just depends on the person's budget.

I have a Dell XPS that runs The Sims 3 great but it was over $1200. If you don't NEED a laptop, I recommend getting a desktop because you can get one with great specs for a lot less than a laptop. Before I decided on my current laptop, I would go on the dell.com website and customize computers to TS3 specs just to get an idea of the price so you could do that to get an idea.
