I've heard of it, looked it up myself, and am embarrassed to say that I do not understand it.

Could someone explain to me what it does for the Sims 3 and is it worth downloading it?

To make a long story short, Awesome Mod is a core mod (meaning, it is a HUGE mod, and you can only have one core mod) that tweaks the game and adds new features. The mod is for power users, and is not simple to use. However, that doesn't mean its hard. The mod was released 2 days after the game was, and has been updated frequently ever since. The mod currently works up to the 1.18 patch, and if you want to go further in depth, there is a test version that is updated almost daily.

The mod is huge, and you should read the features before you decide whether or not it's something for you. A lot of it is nit-picky changes. However, it is definitely a game changer, especially for power users. It's hard to stop using it once you've started!

I looked through the threads, and it's a lot of information! Let me look over it for a few days and then I'll let you know if I really want to try it out. I've never installed a core mod such as this, so this is entirely new to me and I'm definitely not tech savvy in configuring computers (I leave that to my little GA Tech brother LOL)

By the way:
Do you use it? Do you like it better than playing the Sims 3 without it?

i've used it since, well, day 2. And I can't play without it. I'm that tech savvy "power user" i described. However, I don't play the actual game as much, but build stuff more. It makes it easier to access hidden debug interactions for testing and stuff. I'm sure the game is fine without it, and have had to remove it before, but it's just so intertwined into how I play.

Dang..for real?? .......LOL I got a lot to learn about Awesome Mod. LOL Even if I don't manage to understand it all, I probably won't take the risk of trying to install it.
