Post Game/Sims freezing since Showtime
I don't think there's really anything to help for this, but I'll try.

Basically, since I installed Showtime when it came out, my game will gradually slow down, then freeze, and sometimes crashes (not usually) or just never unfreezes, even if I do manually run a bunch of the Overwatch checks every few minutes. If this is a RAM issue (and it feels like one, though I haven't checked task manager yet when it happens), then it's due to a massive memory leak or something because I have 8 GB of RAM (yes, I have a 64-bit computer). There's no reasonable explanation as to why the expansion should be eating that much memory, since it can run on systems that only have 2 GB RAM at maximum.

Not only that, but Sims sometimes just completely disappear--which happened once to my active Sim when I sent her to watch a deer--thankfully Twallan's mod brought her back. Fortunately I can bring them back using Twallan's Overwatch mod, but it's still annoying. I've begun to wonder if the disappearing Sims may have something to do with the Traveler mod, but I really think it's just Showtime being stupid.

I think it's all actually connected somehow with the SimPort system, even though I haven't actually used it (I want to use it so I can get the Steampunk stuff, but I don't have friends with Showtime to trade with so it's a moot point). When I'm not logged in, the game does not freeze up like that nearly as often if it freezes at all.

But I've also noticed the game has slowdown/freeze issues when I summon a genie, which makes absolutely no sense. Are genies really that glitched? As far as I can tell they aren't much different from any other Sim, so that's very strange in itself.

Using Twallan's Overwatch mod helps some, but I have to manually trigger the commands using "immediate" pretty often, and even then it doesn't always work--especially if there's a genie summoned.

Is it just me or does this entirely defeat the purpose of the social/login system, if you can't use it? And is anybody else here having these issues?

More importantly, if you're having these issues, what do you do to manage them, apart from using mods?

I really hope they do something about this next patch, but I'm not counting on it with a stuff pack patch being next. Sometimes, it's very tempting to go back to Sims 2 entirely just because of the glitches in 3!
