 AwesomeMod Update?
How does one get an update of this mod? Do they automatically upload it themselves or what?

 Re: AwesomeMod Update?
Yep, download it yourself. Get it here: http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,15185.0.htmlOr, there is an automatic updater that also updates FPS limiter and 3booter (a program that limits frame rates to keep your video card from being damaged). You run it everytime you want to play sims, and it updates everything before it loads. Find it here: http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,19037.0.htmlSince I have been using the auto updater I no longer have crashes and my game seems in general a lot more stable (I can't guarantee the same for you, I am just recommending it :) )

 Re: AwesomeMod Update?
I downloaded the mod again and installed it.
I no longer get the update messages, but now it just crashes my game.
I know it's this, because I ran the game without it.
So AwesomeUpdate prevent this?

 Re: AwesomeMod Update?
Offtopic: Thanks Charlie!
I would just recommend that you update any mods that you might have. Maybe awesome mod is conflicting with another mod because it is out of date. If you have any Nraas mods (story progression, master controller, debug enabler and all that jazz) make sure they are all up to date. This can cause all manner of issues if you update one mod but not another (once my mods were outdated, I hired 1 butler, but 8 turned up! And all of a sudden the whole neighbourhood had 8 butlers each! All because of a small skill speed mod!).
But as I said before...I would recommend the auto updater thing, and run it every time you want to play sims. It's really that good.
Other than that, I would remove all mods except awesome mod then try to see if the game works. If it does, pretty much guaranteed to be a mod conflicting with awesomeMod.
Hope you get it sorted soon!

 Re: AwesomeMod Update?
Also, make sure your game is COMPLETELY updated. Your game might say the latest patch for an expansion, but I learned the hard way that your basegame is maintained with a different patch.

 Re: AwesomeMod Update?
I got everything working fine, but I recently downloaded the recent patch because I thought having everything updated would fix my sound problem. Now I am getting warnings that a core file doesn't match with AwesomeMod or some crap. I can still play the game fine, but are you sure the mod is updated? Photo Evidence As far as I can tell, everything works just fine.

 Re: AwesomeMod Update?
That happened to me before I patched my basegame. That's why you need to make sure EVERYTHING is patched. There's a small program from ModTheSims. Head over there and go to Sims 3-->Programs and Utilities. From there, look around or search for "patch" or "patcher". That will help you patch everything. Here it is: http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=409829 . Also, Awesome Mod has not been oficially updated for 2 months, possibly causing a problem. I highly suggest you get the test version. This version is updated very frequently, the latest being yesterday, Feb 2nd. http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/ts3/test/Also, if all of that works, I suggest you also get AwesomeUpdate, which automatically updates everything awesome mod related and launches the game. It's, well, AWESOME :D

 Re: AwesomeMod Update?
Also, it's probably a good idea if you are using awesome mod, to not update your game until the awesome mod has been updated for that particular patch.
I won't update my game until Awesome mod is updated.

I honestly believe that is the problem now.

Plus this is my bro's comp so I don't want to install a load of stuff.

Well then best I could tell you is hit or missingly try and update your game, game by game (Basegame, WA, AMB, LN, FLS, HELS, OS, etc etc). I honestly believe that is the source of your problem. Okay look, just looked into it again. The patch downloader is a standalone exe, meaning, you place it ANYWHERE and it runs. The reason why it is important is because, although the game may only show one patch version, there is really x amounts based on how many EPs you have. TAke a look, there is a new patch for 6.2, and if I updated my game, great, 6.2, but base game also needs 1.19, and would be left at 1.18, which causes a problem with awesome mod. Take a look: And if that isn't your problem, god so help me. But I am almost positive i've seen that error before.

 Re: AwesomeMod Update?
For some reason, the second error message I posted hasn't came up. The first has though.
But I downloaded that program on my other computer and when I went to run it. It pulled up and nothing appeared.
Are you sure it doesn't have to be in a specific location?
