 Sims 3 EP: Destination Adventure
..Sounds interesting. Since we have a seamless world, it makes sense to expand what we can do in it. Right now exploring things outside my sim's home is pretty boring with all the different rabbit holes. I wonder what kind of "adventure" it will be? Something like Vacation? Or maybe opportunities with more intricate steps that need to be followed in order to succeed?

Re: Sims 3 EP: Destination Adventure
November? That's fairly early, I was hoping to actually have sims 3 before the expansions...

Re: Sims 3 EP: Destination Adventure
The only thing I can think of it being is a vacation pack, but it seems wierd to me that they would make the first pack be a remake.

Nah, it isn't dirty. mirrorrim wrote: ..Sounds interesting. Since we have a seamless world, it makes sense to expand what we can do in it. Or maybe opportunities with more intricate steps that need to be followed in order to succeed? Assuming the info is correct... If it's something like vacation, I wonder how they will make this seamless with our neighborhoods. We have Sunset Valley and Riverview, and you can't have them both running at once. I'm almost sure this will be a entire new neighborhood that we can visit or something, not necessarily part of our current one. Will this mean loading screens again? And if it's something like vacation how will this work without weather? Unless they include it. It does sound more like some quest or something to make stories to me.

Re: Sims 3 EP: Destination Adventure
Yeah, I thought so too, C*. I think it would be more fun to have opportunities/quests throughout the seamless world that could advance your sim somehow in life. Like instead of studying, practicing, and making friends to be promoted, you would have your sim follow the steps required for an opportunity in the seamless world. Sort of like following your sim to work, but in a more fun and interactive way.
Platinum Blonde: Yeck, I sure hope it isnt an additional neighborhood! That would be so lame and counter-intuitive--what's the whole point of having a seamless neighborhood if you still have to load a vacation spot?

Re: Sims 3 EP: Destination Adventure
Well theres gonna have to be a load screen when a vacation exp pack comes out, or do you want to vacation down the street?
I dont really mind loading up a vacation town map and then being able to expore them. Like the tiki isle, you can load up that holiday destination and then walk to all the lots. Possably do it with the nightlife one to when they make it, just have a more urban town map.
Sims 2 had you load up 4 or 5 other town maps for each naibourhood, Uni, nightlife, vacation and so on.
Once we dont have to load up each lot with in the town map i'll be happy.

Once we dont have to load up each lot with in the town map i'll be happy. That's how I see it. We'll get a convenient "Traveling" loading screen and then our sims are in the Vacation N'hood where they can explore around and such. Not realyl a bad idea. I mean it still has cut down on loading. In sims 2 you went on Vacation but still plenty of loading because in order to do anything you had to go to other lots and load.

Once we dont have to load up each lot with in the town map i'll be happy. That's what I was thinking. Also, it's more realistic. If you thought of the loading screen as a plane, then it makes sense. If you lived in the USA and took a plane to England, you wouldn't be able to just pan over and pick up something you forgot. There'd be some sort of waiting period.

Re: Sims 3 EP: Destination Adventure
That makes sense, didnt think of it as a whole new neighborhood with places to go. Guess I'm still stuck in Sims 2 mode!

Re: Sims 3 EP: Destination Adventure
This is from the french website, and yes the translation for the title is at least accurate... Quote: Premier add on des Sims 3 à débarquer, Destination Aventure nous propose des voyages dépaysants pour sortir de la grisaille de son quotidien. Which means....(more or less).... the first expansion pack coming for the Sims 3, Destination Adventure, offers new travel options to end the dullness of daily life. I can't quite translate "voyages dépaysants" accurately, without sounding awkward in english but my dictionary tells me in english the verb means " to provide somebody with a pleasant change in scenery" which is appropriate if this is all about vacations....

Re: Sims 3 EP: Destination Adventure
I think it would be so cool if they made an airport to trasport our sims to the vacation destination, and just like we have to follow them in their cars, we follow the plane, I think thats the way to do it without loading screens

Re: Sims 3 EP: Destination Adventure
Or just have a loading screen with the image of a plane on it. Probably be easier and alot quicker.

We'll just have to wait and see .....but just from the sound of it Destination Adventure don't that sound kind of like Bon Voyage? An Ep for our Sims to go on vacation?

Re: Sims 3 EP: Destination Adventure
While the freedom we'd have with the above ideas. I still don't see a vacation ep being that interesting for the first ep. But I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. The only thing I figure is maybe those eps, were their top selling 'Somehow'.

Re: Sims 3 EP: Destination Adventure
I agree with Larku, Vacations were never on my top 3 for both Sims series.
But we don't know much so not fair to judge. Maybe they are throwing in weather? I think they are really going to crank them out this time lol. Next thing you know, EA has a whole branch dedicated to Sims stuff lol.

Re: Sims 3 EP: Destination Adventure
Maybe while it was loading the new neighborhood there would be a little sim map and it wold show a little plane flying from SimState (thats what i call the place where all the towns are located ) to whatever place they were traveling to.
