My input on this is this: Have you ever gone on TAB mode and looked how much land Sunsett Valley has in it that isnt used? Litterally 1/4th of Sunsett Valley is used. They really have room to expand.

I think a "Destination Adventure" would be a great EP. Just as long as they bring in Ocean Swimming, I will be happy!

Post Re: Sims 3 EP: Destination Adventure
I liked Bon Voyage but I'd be surprised if this first EP would be just a remake, from reading comments it seems that this wasn't the most popular of the TS2 EPs... I think EA must have some new ideas to make this work, maybe incorporating some of the holiday ideas, but the adventure bit makes me think there may be things like the opportunities the sims can get in base neighbourhoods, but maybe specific to the vacation spots, included in this to make it appeal.

Hopefully they will include seasons in this first EP, maybe have different holiday destinations with one loading screen each (depending on where you want to go), that could incorporate weather, like a snowy destination with skiing and the return of penguins, then beach vacations etc.

Very exciting imagining what this first EP will be like :spin:

I think this might be a good EP……..

You need weather for a good holiday EP, so hopefully it will be in this expansion….and then we can have beach holidays in the sun, skiing holidays in winter, and walking / camping holidays in autumn.

As for the adventure part, I’m hoping for lots of new activities like skiing (Sunset valley has lots of hills), mountain biking, rock climbing, wind surfing, etc. combined with some of the Bon Voyage activities like sunbathing, swimming in the sea, building sand castles, sleeping in tents… added in for good measure.

(Well, that’s how I would do it if I was in charge of this EP)

Claire, that is a wonderful idea for an EP! I'm still holding out for a farm animals EP, though ... with chickens that lay eggs and horses the Sims can really ride.

I've wanted a farm since Sims1! I always make small holder sims but it would be great if we could have cows, chickens and horses as well.
I''m not sure it would come under adventure though...........

Destination Adventure, The first things that come to mind is going to far away lands possibly exploring things no other sim has before.

Maybe it will involve a new career that you go and get the artifacts and bring them back to a museum and show the world of your adventures.

Eh far fetched but I just notice alot of people seem to still think vacation. and vacation don't sound like a adventure but more of a relaxation. Just a thought.

I doubt they'll add onto the neighbourhood in this expansion pack - "just over the hill" isn't the most exotic place to have a holiday.

A backyard vacation would be in accordance with our (America's) economy. "Times are tough and the cash flow is drying up. Think that summer getaway's a pipedream now? Think again! Discover the mysteries and magic of what's a few inches from your yard with a backyard vacation!" Vacation was okay and I hated Bon Voyage, so I'm not too enthusiastic about this EP. However, I always thought that if done right, a vacation EP would be incredible.

Here's an idea that I posted at MTS:

There’d be 4 destinations to go to: Three Lakes (Forest/Mountains), Takemizu City (Far East), Twikkii Island (Beach/Jungle), Vielle Ville (Village). Each destination would have locals who resides there. At each vacation spot, there’d be a mystery you’d could solve using the Opportunity system. Of course, you could ignore the mysteries altogether and have a normal vacation. Each mystery would require you to collect an item or talk to one of the locals or attend an event going on. At the end of each mystery, a supernatural or character awaits.

Three Lakes: Aliens
Takemizu Village: Ninjas & Geishas
Twikkii Island: Sea Creatures & Plantsims
Vielle Ville: Witches & Vampires

After you become friends with the special character, you could have the options to ‘Produce Offspring’ with the alien (males could get pregnant too!), ‘Learn Sacred Teachings’ with the ninjas & geishas, ‘Become Creature of the Seas’ with the sea creatures or ‘Be One With Nature’ with the plantsims, and ‘Become Witch/Vampire’ in Vielle Ville. Then, each creature could have special interactions once you learn or become one.

If you become Disliked by the supernatural creature, they each have a different response:
Aliens impregnant you without your consent. Ninjas shorten your life span. Geishas get your whole household banned from Takemizu Village for one sim week. Sea creatures turns one of your traits into Hydrophobic. Plantsims give you a disease that gives you a ‘Tropical Fever’ moodlet that drains your energy and hygiene for 4 sim days. Witches hex you with a ‘Cursed’ moodlet that lasts for 4 sim days where you can’t get promoted, all romantic advances fail no matter your traits, and skills take a lot longer to gain. Vampires turn you into one without your consent. So you don’t want to mess with these people. LOL

New activities that could be considered:
-New ingredients & dishes
-Swimmable oceans!
-Weather! (Know this probably won’t happen now, but it’s nice to dream)
-Sand castles, sunbathing, fishing for shells making comebacks
-Trendy tourist outfits & outfits fit for each getaway
-Online shopping
-Giving up your children for adoption

Indian, if that does happen, we'll be looking at the best EP in the history of The Sims. I sincerely hope those ideas are included.

I have a few ideas that I think could make this a really good exp.

First of all, Seasons should be added.

And there would be a few destinations representing these:

Winter: Skiing/Snowboarding in Swizerland. Swiss atmosphere and food.
Summer: A Beach on a Greek Island. Obviously a greek atmosphere and food.
Also for summer an amusement park, Landgrabb World! hehe
Fall: Hiking and camping
Spring: Japan, much like the far east in BV also maybe a French destination :)

Post Re: Sims 3 EP: Destination Adventure
The way the say Adventure makes me hopeful that maybe our sims could go hiking and camp out in the wilderness.

Or maybe go to a really cold artic like area or take a trip through a jungle.

Adventure in the title makes me think it'll be more action packed than the previous holiday expansions so I'm hoping for some extreme sports and big dangerous expeditions.

and if Seasons is added I hope there will be even more weather types. Like maybe in the winter time there could be blizzards and sims would have to battle against the wind to get anywhere.

I can't wait to get seasons in my game because I never got to play Seasons on Sims 2 (only read about it) because my sims 2 game went wonky right after I bought Seasons. :indifferent:

The only thing I can think of it being is a vacation pack, but it seems wierd to me that they would make the first pack be a remake.

It makes PERFECT sense, in a seamless neighbourhood. The economy is also messed up because our sims need more stuff to spend money on. I'm guessing time will stand still while we're on vacation also. At least it SOUNDS like a vacation EP. Could also have some Nightlife thrown into the mix.

Anyway, I'm cautiously optimistic. I think it'll be a great EP because well, they stopped working on the core game back in december.

It was rumored because a South African online store left spots for them on its web site. I think it's more likely that EA will release one EP in November, but is probably working on AT LEAST one other EP and SP, which will come out later. I'm sure they're in the process of working on several.

I'm going to need specific information on this EP before I get excited... I wasn't really a fan of Bon Voyage for two reasons that shouldn't be an issue anymore:
1. It prolonged my sim's lives by 3 - 7 extra days (I was all about getting through the generations)
2. Loading screens took too long and ruined the fun.

Like I said, neither of those things should be an issue now but still, it would have to be completely different than Bon Voyage for me to actually buy it.
