I've been wondering too! Maybe they will keep up their little "Thursday is SimDay!" scam, and only release things every 3 weeks.

Re: Its been 10 Days....where are the WA updates?
I want more screenshots. EA is now offering the expansion as a preorder for $40 U.S. ... the most expensive Sims expansion in history. I'm still getting it, though, because I have a $30 credit at Gamestop and nothing else to spend it on ... heh heh.

There is a little Q & A on ING: http://pc.ign.com/articles/100/1009985p1.htmlHonestly, I didn't read the whole thing... it bored me. It's the only update I've seen so far.

Re: Its been 10 Days....where are the WA updates?
The fact that it's $40 really bothers me. I'll have to think twice before I buy it now.
EPs for TS2 were $30 when new, which was reasonable. This is just outragous.

Re: Its been 10 Days....where are the WA updates?
Isn't there a really big game convention in Germany this month (starting on the 19th I think). I guess we'll have loads of new information then!
Still it seems a bit silly to announce the game and then tell us nothing for weeks....especially as quite a lot of people arn't sure they like the EP theme - lots of new information would probably be helpful right now.

Ugh, I didn't even know they upped the EP price by $10. It better be worth the extra money. Who raises their prices when the economy is in the pooper, and what's the point of getting $10 in "free" simpoints when you gotta pay $10 extra for the EP?

Re: Its been 10 Days....where are the WA updates?
I get the feeling EA is going to shoot themselves in the foot. Quote: IGN: Is there a different philosophy to the expansions for The Sims 3 now that EA can distribute a lot of new content via The Sims 3 Store? It used to be you needed to buy an expansion or a content pack at retail to get new items. Does that mean that you need to focus on different areas for the expansion?
Lyndsay Pearson: We're putting so much clothing and content up on the Store each month that it's a great way to let players pick and choose the elements they would like to use in their game. The Sims 3 World Adventures will offer an entire, whole new experience, something we couldn't deliver through the Store. Our challenge really becomes--with multiple avenues to get items or content to customers--how do we make sure we don't start overlapping too much? The Store also has the flexibility to do bite sized chunks of crazy content if we want to. We would probably never offer a set of moon-base themed furniture in an expansion pack, but we could put it on the Store if it's something people would really enjoy. The Store offers an excellent complement and enhancement resource, but we still plan to have major innovations and systems delivered by the expansion pack. The Sims 3: World Adventures focuses on delivering those along with actual, real-world inspired locations--something we couldn't give players through any other means. Well, It sounds like you can kiss Clothing and furniture goodbye in EPs. There might be SOME, But not much by the sounds of it.

You hit the nail right on the head with this. People in the U.S. have been losing their jobs left and right for the past year or two. I guess EA figures if you were able to buy Sims 3 in the first place, then you'll be able to buy their expansion, too. And the free Simpoints is now a joke considering we're paying more for the expansion.

Re: Its been 10 Days....where are the WA updates?
Wow... just... wow. So they're charging an extra $10, and claiming you're getting 1000 'free' sim points? Oh it was just silly to think EA would give away anything free. It's more like "here's an expansion, and by the way, we're forcing you to buy some points too"
I really hope the price is wrong. This expansion is coming out around the same time a number of other popular games are coming out. A poor move on EA's part in my opinion, especially if they want to over charge

Re: Its been 10 Days....where are the WA updates?
You know, 30 was pushy enough, but now 40?! That's almost as much as the game, and yet with probably a 1/4th of the content. What has gotten into the minds of EA? They really are MONEY HUNGRY IDIOTS. Once their sales fall through the floor, they may lower it, but probably only a dollar or two

Re: Its been 10 Days....where are the WA updates?
Meh. $40 in American dollars is just under $50 Australian ones, so in theory, if it's the converted American price for most countries, it's slightly cheaper over here. But, of course, they'll charge like $60 or $70 for us to buy it. And considering I haven't even used me 'free' simpoints that came with the base game, and opted for the shadier side, it seems rather stupid to charge more for less.

40$? In France I just saw, in amazon fr, they sell it for about 25€ (roughly the same in $?) Hope it stays cheap like that (the TS2 exp were sold for about the same price over here, between 25 and 35€ max)
