 You can build stores huh?
"Now You Can Go Inside Stores: Finally! I hated sending my Sims off to shop and having to stare at the outsides of buildings for forever like I was playing a real-time strategy game and waiting for the battle to end. Naturally, the game also lets you build your own stores and fill it with whatever kind of junk you want to sell." http://kotaku.com/5372557/sims-3-world- ... nch--oh-myI'm not sure how deep the game is going to go down the own-a-store path, but this (for me) is even more important than the vacations and dungeons. Can this really be true then....the potential of detailed shops in the 3d town is huge...

Re: You can build stores huh?
I get the feeling that the rabbit holes themselves probably won't be opened up but there will be new community lot items to allow the buying of books/groceries so we can design our own shops.
Who knows maybe it will be possible to have restaurants too opened up.....it would seem kinda strange if they made it possible to have opened shops and not open restaurants...
Sounds exciting, it would be cool if we could actually run them considering we can already own businesses in sims 3 base game....

Re: You can build stores huh?
with regards to rabbitholes, if EA would give us room-sized versions, we could build whole lots around the single room.....problem solved

I hope this is true! I miss OFB!
And it would really be great to see inside the Rabbit Holes.

Re: You can build stores huh?
So, it took them a expansion to bring back a "feature" that was in Sims 2 base? I wonder what else they will drag out, only to bring back what we've experienced before in base or such. In the sense that the base game of Sims 2 did have stores, not ones you could run but at least they were not rabbit holes.

Re: You can build stores huh?
My interpertation (sp?) of this is different
The way I see things is that Egypt has 'open' markets, as seen in the pictures (as well as mentioned in many different articles). Like bazars you can visit to see who is selling what. By having your own store, I believe this is the sort of store they mean. Where you can open up a little bazar and put your items on display to see if passing sims will buy them
This, in no way, gave me the impression that rabbitholes will open up

That would be a massive step forward. Thats what I was getting at. People, I don't think those rabbitholes are gonna be particularly improved. They've been made now and I think EA are focusing on other tings. They certainly didn't look any better or more open in the France pic at least.

I do not think rabbitholes will be opened up (if ever) until a Job or Business EP is available.

Re: You can build stores huh?
If they decide to do a EP like that. This one is a old but new idea, what would they add new to the old idea of OFB? They had hair and pets and many other types of stores. How would they add to it? Unless they made it tycoon style management where you can massively own stores and compete in the stemless neighborhood, I don't know what they might do.

Re: You can build stores huh?
To be honest, i thought OBF was one of the best made and playable EPs, I don't think they would NEED to add to it - but i'm sure EA could think of something :)

Re: You can build stores huh?
Well they didn't mention it here, which I suspect they would of if it was included.... Any new changes unrelated to the new destinations?
A number of new features we offer in The Sims 3 World Adventures have a purpose beyond the destinations. The new basement tool offers all sorts of new building possibilities – we used it primarily to create tombs and adventures, but you can now build a basement hang out for any of your Sims’ homes. We’ve also added a number of new socials for children and toddlers - children can steal candy from their little brothers or sisters, or play a nice game of peek-a-boo. We also worked on adding a great new feature that allows you to customize the colors and patterns on stairs and fences! ??

Re: You can build stores huh?
Although this can very much sound like they have opened up the rabbit holes i do not think this is the case. Opening the rabbit holes would create so many issues i dont see anyway in which they could be opened up. The only way i could see them meeting the complainers demands is to just take them out of the game altogether and have every community building built from scratch.
Anywho im quite intrigued as to what exactly it is they are talking about.
