 Memories are back!
I am so happy! "All of the new activities, celebrations, and drama are easier than ever to remember and reminisce about with a new Memories system that keeps track of major life moments and also lets you share them on Facebook or your Sims My Page!" - http://www.webhallen.com/spel/pc/132494-sims_3_expansion-leva_livetHell to the yeah! Who else is thrilled about the memories being added?

 Re: Memories are back!
Well, lets see... No, not really. They were cool in The Sims 2, but will these memories effect the way Sims act? The Sims 2 one didn't. That's what I'm waiting to see. If they do, that's a nice little feature. However, I am not going to go pay $40 for it either way.

 Re: Memories are back!
It would be nice if the sims viewed their old home videos, it would spark a memory and give them a good mood boost. Maybe it works that way. IDK........

 Re: Memories are back!
You guys are being TOO pessimistic. I understand not wanting to buy the game, or disliking the 99% of the 'features' the game comes with. But don't put down certain things you like, just because you dislike everything else.
Though this should of been in the base game -___- XD I still love the fact that this ep is coming with it though.:D

 Re: Memories are back!
What's going to be really interesting is if EA will continue to update the memories system as each new EP is released after Generations.

Exactly!! haha. Yes, it is nice, but it was in the original sims 2. But look, they added a wedding cake and a wedding arch!!! No wait, that was in the sims 2 base game also. However, it is nice that they decided to add an actual feature to the game -_-

Users can share these memories on Facebook? They're really going all-out with the whole integrate-the-game-with-the-internet now, aren't they?

 Re: Memories are back!
I'm excited about memories even if they are like TS2 and have no affect on the sim, although that would be awesome if they did. However, I don't think it's a big enough feature to be the main selling point of an EP. It's already been said but it should have been in the base game.

 Re: Memories are back!
I wonder how the new memory system actually work. I know we've seen video cameras and the sims can watch their home videos, but what are other ways they could reminisce the past? I really hope there is a group interaction where they could all share memories together which could increase relationships with one another.
Hopefully in the next few weeks, we'll know about this new feature. I don't want it to be exactly the same as the Sims 2, I would want my Sims to have an effect from remembering certain moments of their lives: GOOD and BAD!

 Re: Memories are back!
Talking of taping the memories on their cameras - I hope they aren't just ingame and are saved into my documents so I can use them for movie making purposes - that might be a good feature right there!
And you're saying that memories isn't a big enough feature to be a key thing - what else is there?

Are the /sims/ getting Facebooks, or are we going to be able to post stuff to OUR facebooks. That's a misconception I'm yet to clear out!

According to the interview, I think it's just basically creating a scrapbook and uploading it to facebook to share with friends. Do you have any plans to make use of social networks such as Twitter and Facebook for The Sims 3 or its expansions? In The Sims 3 Generations, Sims can now track Memories of significant life moments in their Scrapbook, and for the first time ever in The Sims, players can upload and share their Sims' memories on Facebook and TheSims3.com! Your Sim's first kiss? First WooHoo? It can all be uploaded and shared online with a screenshot and custom description of your Sim's memory. You can even create you own memories in the game and share them as well!
To be honest, I'm slightly disappointed, I mean I like the idea of sharing photos with others on facebook, but I hope that's not ALL you can do with memories.

 Re: Memories are back!
Honestly, I think uploading your simming experiences onto your facebook is kind of nerdy if you ask me. So I will under no circumstances be doing that.
I still say memories should be a secondary feature, and the main one should have been opening up the schools to children and adding an elderly home! (Not that many people like to play with elders, but they are people too!)

Basically in the game if your sim had a string of bad memories, when they were sleeping they start popping up in their thought bubbles and eventually the sim wakes up taking deep breaths. It was one of those things a lot of people didn't know about.

 Re: Memories are back!
I hope sims remember their family members when they move out!!! That has always bugged me....Sim moves out, sim's parent/s die, sim could care less unless they are actually traumatized by death.....psshh

 Re: Memories are back!
GAH, If we have to accept one of those stupid permission boxes to let TS3 take over our news feed, I won't be happy. I can see it following the path of Farmville and all the other Zynga games, spamming out notifications onto Facebook for basically everything. "Jack's sim has just fulfilled a wish! Click here to help them earn double the lifetime reward points!"

 Re: Memories are back!
Or you could just chose to not accept? :l I certainly won't be connecting my TS3 with facebook. I have a lot of IRL friends that I used to play ts2 with, I used to upload the occasional screenshot and tag them in it, but I'm really turned off by the idea of sharing 'my sims memories' on facebook. Everyone would be like. WTF? :l
