What do you think? I think most of them sound rather obnoxious, but then I was always a goodie two-shoes as a teen. A lot of the new activities sound tailor-made for Lilith Pleasant of TS2, don't they? I like the parties, after-school activities, and dances. The school clubs sound like rabbit holes but I hope the parties and dances aren't.

I enjoyed reading the article :) I think it would be a nice change for the game to have some rebellious activities included. My brother and I used to do things to each other (but none to the extent of what was listed in the article lol). I'm excited that the parents are able to punish/ground their teens, instead of just having a "lecture" which really didn't do much lol.

Unfortunately school dances will be rabbit holes but parties won't be since they can be thrown at your sims home.

im quite looking forward to the rebellious stuff. I was a goody-goody when i was a teenager too, so im quite excited about making a me-sim and making her as rebellious as possible. Sad i know lol. By the way, i feel rather stupid for asking this as i feel i should know but what's a rabbit hole??

Rabbit holes are buildings that you (the player) cannot view inside such as the school, grocery store, bookstore, stadium, etc...

In the Sims 2, we were able to watch our sims shop for their clothes, actually sit down and have a date at a restaurant, and browse for books to buy.

Since Ambitions came out, it allowed us to view our sims at work in very few buildings such as Fire Department, Salon/Tattoo Parlor etc...

I hope we get some new teen clothes, I wouldn't have worn half the stuff in the game whether I was a rebel teen or not!

You and me both!! I plan to play the toddler-teen stages more once this EP comes out. Most of the teen clothes are....ick!!

After watching this preview from IGN, I paused at 2:21 to read the following:

"Learning how to drive is an exciting yet embarrassing rite of passage for any teen. You've just taken your first step towards independence. It will take time and extreme patience, but it will all be worth it in the end when Parker [played teen sim] earns his driver's certificate."

It was one of those blue notice messages you get in the right upper corner, like when a sim adds a skill point. I know they said there are no new skills, so this isn't one, but I'm wondering how getting a driver's certificate will work. It would be so awesome if it could show the teen driving around with an instructor and he would make mistakes like stop the car in the middle of the street because he killed the engine. I remember how many times I blocked an intersection when I killed the engine (damn clutch! ).

Oh my god, I would never want to drive a clutch. I want to learn automatic first, then learn clutch later, because I know I'll have to sometime.

Baaad idea. Once you learn to drive a car with a clutch, you can easily adapt to an automatic. Plus, in my country, once you have a license for one with a clutch, the same license is good for an automatic one. But not the other way around. (I always supposed it was the same all around the world). And once you learn on an automatic one, it will be even harder to learn the other one because you have to add certain reflexes to already learnt moves (it's easier to forget a reflex than to add another one to an already formed set of reflexes).

But the most awesome thing is that first time when you get in the car, the instructor points out all the buttons and what not, and 10 minutes later he says "So, get it moving."

You: "What?"
Instructor: "Start it up and drive."
You: "Here!?!? Like, ON THE STREET!? Where everyone is doing 50 miles per hour???"
Instructor: "Yup."

And my instructor insisted on having the radio turned on ("You have to work on your distributive attention"), and it was playing "Highway to hell". Perfect mood for crashing the car (I still have no idea how I managed to never crash that car).

The first drive's always the scariest. I had to pick my sister up from her dance school, which is about 3km away from out house. She saw the car with the L plates (We have these plastic square 'plates' that you put on the front and back of the car to let other drivers know if you have a learner/provisional license) on it and refused to get in there with me. On the way home I completely froze when I had to go around a roundabout and ended up driving up and over it.
BUT, 14 months and 120 hours later, I passed the first of many driving tests on the road to getting a full license, and now I can drive on my own. Which is awesome.

Also, yeah, I have no idea how to drive a manual. Automatic is so much easier, none of that gear changing and clutching and stalling.

Okay so I've got a few thoughts. Putting teens in Time Out is ridiculous so let's hope that can't be done. Second, these punishments aren't free will are they? Like my sims can't punish without me directing the action right? Anyways, dances, after school activities and pranks sound promising.

I don't like the idea of putting teens in Time Out, but I did read somewhere where time outs are just the beginning. Teens can be grounded/have privileges taken away from them after they had time outs. I think it depends on how often the teens get into trouble then the punishment would become more severe.

But it's ridiculous. Who sends their teenaged kid to stand in the corner? If my parents had told me to stand in the corner I would have thought they had finally lost their minds. D:

I know right?! Well, maybe they misinterpreted the punishment system in the interview (that happens sometimes right?! ). I really hope that time outs are for kids, and grounding is for teens....like real-life XD

I sure hope so. Time outs are fine for kids, no problem there but teens.... so awkward. xD Maybe anything a teen does is bad enough to be grounded or restricted from an object? Like maybe only kids can do minor things to deserve a time out. I probably make no sense though so yeah.

I hope that the time outs are just for kids, too. Who the hell puts their teenagers in a time out? It would be neat if how much your ground/punish them has an effect on traits.

standing in a corner is pretty stupid. It should be sending them to their room and if they have TV/computer in there you ban them from using it. From which they could sneak on it while parents are either at work or if you're risky while they're in another room. There could be a small chance that turning them on would result in loud volume, alerting suspecting parents or sibling ready to rat them out.

speak for yourself plumbob! My parents used to put me in a naughty corner all the time. We also had the naughty step on the stairs... but can you imagine the routing issues that would cause for sims if the stairway was blocked? haha.
