I just had my first ever genuine wedding party in the Sims 3: with generations, it's finally worth while. Actually, more than that...








It really felt like a party. I'm not sure if the images show, but there were at least fifteen sims walking around at some point.

I've ran into several other forums where people were asking how to hold a wedding and wedding party on a community lot. The main problem being you can't add wedding cakes (or any other cakes) to community lots. But this problem is easily solved: buy the cake shortly before your sims leave for the party, and drag it into their inventory. Once they're at the location, take the cake out of the inventory and place it wherever you want it. Problem solved :).

Also, as I said... the wedding party really, really, was worth while. I got four wedding gifts afterwards, worth over 60.000 simoleans. Honestly... with that much, I'm seriously considering killing off hubby number one and getting a second just for the dough.
Though I'm not sure if that wedding-gift part is new with generations. If it isn't... I really missed out on some easy money making in the past.

Yeah, same here. The other 7+ were... how do you put it? The usual sim swarm whenever you go to a community lot. But it makes for quite a nice effect for when you want to throw a party. Eight just isn't a crowd :P. Of course, I just realized I might be able to tweak it even more... wonder what happens when some other household member starts inviting their friends to the same lot at the same time?

BTW, does anyone know if you can throw a wedding party at a LN bar/club/launge? If not, I'll just have to make a fake lot, but I'd rather not waste the space.

Nice pics! It reminds me that I want to build a lot solely for throwing wedding parties. And yep the wedding gift thing is new with Generations. When I first discovered the wedding gifts I was like: wow! My sims sold them all off. It was nice money. And they usually get 4 - 7 depending on who all I invite. I love throw parties now for that reason. That and relationships with people invited to parties gets a nice little boost.

As soon as I get Generations there is a perfect Church in my neighborhood almost destined to become a wedding hall.

It's nice to finally have a properly wedding in The Sims 3! But I was kind of disappointed with the weddingcake... My newlywed sims didn't even cut the cake together, just like they did in The Sims 2... That was actually the part that I was looking most forward to.

But otherwise it's great :)
