Post Blue Screen?
So I installed Generations this morning. Made a family and got through CAS fine. But after playing the actual game in live mode for 10-15 minutes the screen goes black, flashes between a darker and a lighter black for a few seconds, then the mouse cursor disappears and then I get blue screened. I updated the game so it can't be that. Just wondering if anyone has had this problem or might know how to fix it?

...Are you sure all your games are patched? I said this earlier today in another thread.. hold on.

Are you sure all your games are patched? If you have anything more than basegame, you need to make sure that all your games are patched. EA screwed up patching. The best way to check that you are all up to date is to use this tool from Mod The Sims. Here: http://modthesims.info/download.php?t=409829

Just download and extract the EXE anywhere. No installation required.

Other than that, this is a huge update, and if you have any mods, you may want to look into testing them. However, the problem does not seem to be of the mod nature, because the game works.

Have you updated your OS recently? Checked Graphics Card drivers... that seems to maybe the problem.

I have the same problem with my computer but I still got blue screens after I uninstalled the game so I'm assuming that I need a new graphics card or more memory.

I'm not to sure why it does that, i believe i recall dowloading a patch from EA and suddenly this started happening and it never stopped unless i didn't play the sims 3. My computer passes the minimum requirements yet it did this with the base on my new laptop. 10-15 mins in the blue screen would pop up  Quite annoying and disappointing. I'm still trying to figure it out, but i've heard so many say to make sure your computer is updated, check your ram and graphic card hopefully it'll help you out

Post Re: Blue Screen?
Its quite possible that there's a memory leak associated with the game. Sometimes I have an issue where the Sims house turns all blotchy and the objects disappear. Sometimes I can Alt/Tab away and then back to the game and after a short delay, I can resume playing. I've learned to save after each Sim day, in case I get a windows crash. I just wish EA would have a quick-save button, so when the screen is wonky, I can just save real fast before it crashes.

I've also noticed the game runs more stable after a reset of my PC, as opposed to doing other stuff for hours then playing the Sims. So maybe restarting the PC before playing might help (Another reason I think it might be memory leak)
