You know, I really appreciate work for this. You should definately create a website for it and get revenue through donations and advertizing. With the work you put in, you deserve it! Seriously though, the little things you've put in, such indepth detail. I'm hoping that the next EP is another Generations that doesn't require much neighborhood elements. With your implementation of the stables, this town is honestly perfect for every purpose. I will hopefully snatch World Adventures around the release date. Can't wait to explore! :)

Prof,

Would you be able to tell me what the biggest residential lot is that you have on the island?

Thanks in advance. :bub:

Hello,
Your world is INCREDIBLE! I love the pictures, and even took a peek at it in CAW. It's so beautiful and thorough. Unfortunately, it won't install into my game. Coconut Island 2.0 did, but not 3.0. You mentioned in earlier posts that you were going to create a base game version and then upload the lots. Has this been done? If not, can it still be done? I would really love to play this wonderful world.

Whoever has Pets, I need your advice! I enlarged the Stables after seeing a lot of the types of objects for horses and how they work. I'm hoping you could help me out through the rebuilding of The Stables since I don't have Pets yet. Coconut Island won't require Pets, I just want to make sure a location for horses is readily available.

The smaller of the two pre-made "Horse Ranch" lots (which are the ones to practice rideing/jumping/etc.) is 30x40. This seems to be the smallest functional size for this type of lot.

Hey everyone!
I played the very first Coconut island when it was all finished and I loved it. However, I lost it when upsating my computer and never uploaded it again. Now that I see you have a 3.0 I NEED to have it. I just have a couple questions.
1. Do I need mods or anything for this to work correctly? I don't use CC in my games and so the fact that I'm getting this town at all is a big deal, but reading through some of the replies, mods are mentioned a lot. I really hope I don't need it because I just don't trust myself to ever stop myself if I start using mods and then I will go crazy and break my game in rampage of downloading, hahahah.
2. This is just the beta so I don't expect perfection, but how many glitches are we talking here? I'm sub-par at getting things to work for me when I mess them up so the glitches will have to be small and of limited obtrusive-ness for anything to work for me.
3. Also, how do you have the patiemce of doing this? The pictures are beautiful and so detailed, and I've tried CAW and I...I was just bad at it to say the least. I just have to marvel and cmopliment your skills and dedication to the project. I could never do it.

Thanks in advance for answers, really look foward to (hopefully) playing your world.

Hey Sim_U_Lation, I'm posting from far far away

1. The short and sweet answer is: Mods are not required! I do recommend the Traveler Mod as it allows you to go to Coconut Island just like a World Adventures destination and that's just a treat! I know you're squeamish about extra content, but the traveler mod is created by one of the most trusted creators in the Sims community. So give it a shot if you're up for it!

2. Glitches are pretty small, mostly with the "Adventure" portion of the world. If you're just here to enjoy fun in the sun and check the island out, you're good to go. Nothing will wreck your game if that's what you're worried about. And if you do come across problems, I love to hear about them so we can make the world as perfect as can be!

3. Patience has been built since the beginning of CAW. I felt right at home with CAW since it has similarities to 3D programs and I've been doing 3D work for a very long time. I've been a fan of building in Sims since the beginning(all the way back to classic Simcity!), so being able to build my own world in this kind of detail has been a dream.

For everyone else waiting for the update, hang in there! I'm still away from home, but I DID have a new update ready to go for you all before I left in November. My computer crapped out on me(perfect timing!!!) but once I get back home(February), and get my computer up and running again I will get it to you all ASAP!

Happy Simming!

Regarding mods (and I'm posting here because this is your mod and I don't know if it has an official page anywhere) - the NPCs use subways mod that you have posted in version 1.24 in the first post isn't compatible with 1.29. In the sense that, when playing with horses, whatever you make them do, they just reset. If you could find the time, it would be awesome to have it updated, once you're done with The Island. :)

I have to say, this is my absolute favourite world. Whenever I do a clean install of my game, its the first download I go in search for.

I wonder if its possible to get the earlier versions of your world, because on one of my computers, I don't have all the EP's that you used, and want to install this version in that game. If possible in .world format as the launcher doesn't install anything, because I am using Linux for this one.

Finally, after obsessively watching this world develop, wishing that I had a computer that could handle more than the base game, I was able to upgrade and download this world. Upon trying it out, I must say, I have not been disappointed. It's by far the most beautiful world I have ever seen, and now everything else I download seems like crap by comparison, so thank you for all of your hard work.

Offtopic: I would just like to add onto the patience part that profplumbob mentioned...

When using CAW, or in my experiences, using any 3D game building tool is going to require LOTS patience. So grab yourself a cup of coffee and take breaks as you need them. It's better to walk away than yell and swear at your monitor... We all have these moments and it is just better to walk away and come back with a clear head lol. And trust me, it will be worth the patience once you do create something that you're proud of  .

Keep up the good work, professor!

Hey All!

My computer is in the process of being rebuilt, so I'll have access to the files within a week or two. Once I do, I'll get that update uploaded for ya'll. I will NOT be continuing Coconut Island, but I WILL release the CAW files! I unfortunately have little desire and patience to work with Sims 3 anymore. I'm just not into the series as I used to be and it would be very time consuming and head ache inducing to get back into it.

I know I'll be disappointing many, but for the most part the world is pretty much done, just with unfinished bits here and there.

update: I will be finishing the world, I found a way to shorten the Adventure so this can get done much faster. Also, I'lll still release the CAW files when it's done.

I bet that that would be enough for me. Would you be willing to make a summary of unfinished ends?

It's really just the Quest tomb stuff that's unfinished. I may go in and convert them all to Keystone of Discovery tombs and scatter the keys throughout the world. That would be the easiest and quickest solution to make the last update more fleshed out and official. And then if anyone wants to continue making the world, you'll have access to the CAW files.

Oh thank goodness you're putting the CAW files out!
I've been worried for months if you'd just abandoned it all.
You see, ever since I first found your island last year I've been populating it and writing a story around it ever since. I've been trying to edit it from the .world file with varying sucess as I want to expand it but the method from MTS is proving hard to apply...anyway the CAW files would make such a difference :D
I'm planning on making a story blog with it when I'm done with CAW and I was wondering if you'd mind at all if I uploaded it to ModTheSims? I would of course give you credit for the original island and a massive thanks :D
I'm fixing routing issues and adding a new vampire half, seperated from your original part by a jungle (expanding from the village) in case you were wondering.

Your world really is the best island I've found, I don't even mind you haven't done the quests it's just great to play as a home world!
When will you have those files up by the way?
Thanks :D
