 Re: Anyone got it yet?
Anyone who pre-odered the Sims 3 Pets to get the Pet Shop Venue, the download is now working Disregard the code for the special content, it should be available as soon as you register the game. Overall, I am very happy with this game! In the meantime, I think I'm going to have to upgrade my computer to a Windows 7 with a 64-Bit RAM this year!!

I got it! I didn't get the pet collar though. Usually I'd read the manual while it's installing, but there isn't one so I'm here instead.

I got it! I didn't have too much time to play but it's fun so far. My sim adopted a dog and also bought a horse. Then I realized that I would probably need a stable and whatnot so I sold it right away, but it was fun for that minute.

I have it, really enjoying it.
Made myself a horsewoman and built a barn to breed horses in. Loving it, really need some weather/seasons now and my life can be complete!

 Re: Anyone got it yet?
I got it! It's downloading right now. I got a digital download copy from Amazon.com. I think that's what I'll be doing from now on, because it's cheaper than Wal-mart (where I usually buy), it's greener, and most of all I have a terrible, terrible track record with keeping up with CDs and DVDs. Not to mention it only too an hour and a half to download, which I think is pretty impressive. Can't wait to play!

Idk if I like that route though.. my foot is still in the generation I grew up in. Physical media is the way to go. ...good lord, I'm 16 and technology has already outlawed my generation...

 Re: Anyone got it yet?
Just got Pets and Generations, seeing that I haven't really been around since LN. Been playing around in the new town that came with Pets, just to check out how pets are managed (mainly wild animals) I'm not sure how wild deer and horses are going to be like in Bridgeport (if any), cause I thought that would be super stupid to see in a city I haven't really bought/adopted any pets just yet (due to being poor at first), but I've interacted with a few. I didn't think I was going to be much of a horse person, but the first house I bought was cheap and came with a huge horse pin. The sim I happen to be playing is an outdoorsman, loves adventure, and happens to look kind of like a cowboy. Then I had some wild horses come by and I started interacting with them, and thought it would be cool to try and go out to tame wild horses to raise (if that's possible, I'm hoping, haven't fully tried just yet). So I guess I ended up liking horses after all They will eat your garden though! Here I was worried some stray dog was going to ruin my garden, like they ruined my flowers back in Sims 2, and it's a horse that decides to eat my plants. So you garden lovers might want to fence your garden

 Re: Anyone got it yet?
I was playing this for hours last night and all I have to say is that this is by far the best expansion pack ever created in the entire history of the game. It adds so many little things alongside the regular pets, from flocks of birds flying throughout the world when you zoom out into map view, to the deer and wild horses that flock towards the waterfall. Appaloosa Plains is very impressive, and Ambitions buildings (as well as a watering hole) have been designed specifically for the neighbourhood and have designated spaces so they don't just get dumped willy-nilly throughout the town like they do for all the other worlds. Horses work a lot smoother than I thought they would. There is a little clipping that can happen, especially when they come in contact with vehicles, but other than that they work really well. They don't require much other than hay or grass and water. I moved my family into a house with a tiny backyard and my horse and her foal were very happy just standing there until I needed to use them. The unicorn is... interesting. I got my horse-loving sim to find one and get it to move in to see what exactly it is that they do. They can curse or bless animals or sims, which just gives them a moodlet and a mood drop/raise, set fire to stuff and teleport, which is pretty handy. The amount of small animals they added is mind-boggling as well. My sim found a pygmy turtle when she was training her horse, picked it up and took it home with her. My other sim's cat would constantly attack their cockatoo so I had to swap its roosting tree for an actual cage. The riding system works really well also. As does the racing. Overall this is definitely my favourite expansion pack across the entire series. It explains why Generations was such a fail (they were putting all their time and effort into making this as good as they could get it) and it's put a tiny bit of faith back into EA.

 Re: Anyone got it yet?
The flocking birds have been there since the beginning I do think the new town is very Pets oriented and fits pretty well. I'm not sure how well the other towns will adapt to the expansion (have yet to load one of the others to see, waiting for mods to update) I finally got tired trying to find a pet to adopt, and didn't actually see a way to really buy/make one within the family. So I went into Town Edit mode and just created one as it's own family. Then I just merged my new dog with my sim. The only issue with that method was, my new dog came with $16,000 felt kind of like I was cheating. Seeing that this is probably the only method I'll use to add pets to my existing family, all my families are going to have a sudden bonus in cash I have encountered a couple minor bugs now, but nothing game breaking. Dogs have a "Destructive" need. If you pause the game, then switch to the dog, it will show the need maxed out. But once you unpause, it shows what it's really at. It had me a little confused at first because I was wondering why it kept raising and lowering so drastically (not sure if anyone else has this. I also pause/play alot) At first I was disappointed that my dog could only have 3 traits, but apparently it can acquire more through training and daily actions

 Re: Anyone got it yet?
I did this afternoon, and just installed it.
I'm really kind of confused right now, though. I went out of my way to make sure I got the Limited Edition (was happy to see it was still at stores today), but when I got home I read the pamphlet which said the code expired on October 18th. I was like "WHAT?!". So... I installed it quite nervously. They couldn't really do that to us, right? That would be false advertising - buying the Limited Edition but not getting the Limited Edition stuff because you were a little bit too late.
I installed it and followed the directions and then it was in my Purchase History, which is even more confusing. I never was prompted to enter the code that came with my game. So it's very confusing to me right now. That expired on the 18th and it was supposed to be entered by a code? But... but... I got it today and didn't enter the code and the pet shop is in my game and I can verify it works.

 Re: Anyone got it yet?
Read carefully -- it expires on 10/18 but in 2012. You're good for a year!
