So in the beginning of the game I noticed that some households had som icons over their houses. I hovered my mouse on it and it told me that there was an adoption to be made. I went there and saw that a guy had two cute shepherd puppies for adoption. I didn't pick one though, I just wanted to check out how it works. I also noticed that when I was playing with my selfsims daughter a message popped up. The cat of the household have been pregnant and there's now kitties for adoption. I thought it was pretty weird cause when I last played with the household the cat was never pregnant. I also noticed that on the cats family tree there wasn't any kittens or father.

"Oh well" I thought, it must be random.

But now for some time there hasn't been any families that have had any pets for adoption for quite a while.

I want to adopt a puppy from a household just so I know what kind of dog it is. It's kind of a gamble to adopt a pet from the pet shelter cause you'll never know what dog/cat you will get. I once adopted a cute puppy, but when it grew up it became hideous and was obviously a small type of dog.

Is it totally random or is it a part of the story progression? But that wouldn't make any sense cause I play with story progression off.

I'm not really sure what's going on with adopting from another family. When I first started playing Pets, I got a message that so-and-so had a foal for adoption but I could never get my Sim to go to the house because the family was never home. So I gave up on that one.

Then things got stranger. Days later, I was playing the premade Sim Benjamin Schmidt, who starts with a female German Shepherd, Ralston. I had him adopt a male Boxer that I named Rebel, and the two dogs eventually had puppies, two male pups that I named Crosby and Riley. Very cute, a nice mix of both mom & dad, but had mostly dad's coloring.

Then I switched households and played a Sim I created, Gilberto, who's a coworker and friend of Benjamin's. Gilberto got a phone call from Benjamin that he had puppies for adoption, so when B. was home, G. visited him to get a puppy. But now the two puppies at the Schmidt house were Crosby and one I'd never seen, a female named Sassy. She looked completely different (but still adorable). No Riley anywhere. So Gilberto adopted Sassy and took her home, then I switched back to play the Schmidts again. There were the two pups Crosby and Riley. When I look at Ralston & Rebel's family tree there is no Sassy, and when I look at Sassy's, she's the only one in it. No parent dogs, but she looks like a mix of the two. Weird.

Hmm.. to me that sounds like a Story Progression aspect, somthing I'm sure Awesome Mod will let you manage. Or if it's a glitch, theres hope for the next patch.

I also found out that you can check upon adoption in your neighbourhood via the computer. So I did and it told me that one of my own families had kittens. So I went there to check them out. But there wasn't any kittens at all. And now everytime I check the computer I'll get the same message about the same family. It's very annoying.

I've had it a few times now where a household will call about adopted kitties etc
and then when i get the cute pet they have no family tree, its just them.
I keep finding it like last time I played I found 3 new foals at my sims house.
Even though they where very very similar looking to one of my horses in the family (almost exactly the same)
apparently they where not related as all 3 of the foals had there own family tree and were not related to each other
or the two adult horses.

This annoys me so much! Its happened since the last patch, before that patch I would not get any baby pets
at all through story progression so at least now I have the baby pets but without them having a mother.
It really sucks with foals too because they get the 'wheres my mummy' moodlet 24/7. Poor things!
