Post Sexuality / Views on Sex and Love
As the title suggests.
I'm very curious as to what sexuality the majority of this forum is.
I know that a lot of the guys who come here are homosexual, but what about the girls?
Yeah, so vote and discuss.

I'm pansexual, which doesn't really fit into any of those categories. A lot of people would consider it the same as bisexual, but I don't see it that way. Bisexuality is usually confined simply to the attraction to both men and women, while pansexuality is a broad term that describes an attraction to people who may be men, women, transsexuals, genderqueers, genderless, dragqueens/crossdressers, etc.

I'm willing to love whoever I fall in love with regardless of their sexual identity.

So... yeah. Vocabulary lesson. :silly:

I identify as heterosexual,(I say 'identify as' because it's not like I really know exactly what my sexuality is) but when I was younger I called myself pansexual because I hadn't started liking boys yet and I figured that I liked girls just as much as I liked boys.

So I'm straight, but maybe that will change and I'll fall in love with a girl  Although my physical attraction to women = -50 :yuck:

Oh and weird thing about my sexuality and I was wondering if this happens to anybody else, but I get grossed out when I hear guys talking about how hot girls are, I'm very uncomfortable around heterosexual guys when they're being too blatantly heterosexual....idk.

Heterosexual.

Yeah, one word and emoticon posts are for the win. I'm letting the three posts like that in this topic stay, but seriously, keep it to more than just a couple of simple words.. Oh, and quotes don't count.

Anyways, I am heterosexual, I don't understand two people of the same sex being attracted to one another, but I guess some do. Offtopic: I find it morally wrong as well, but that doesn't mean I have a problem with gays either. It's just my personal views on that...(So please don't take offense to that)

Offtopic: Was that really necessary?

And oh, yay, pansexual option. : D

Maybe not necessary.. Just thought I'd state a personal view on it, but I have nothing against it at all. I have a few gay friends who are pretty cool.

I've only heard of a pansexual twice now. This one girl I never really knew, but I used to go to school with, is pansexual. It's pretty interesting to me. At first I thought she meant as in animals and humans, but your definition cleared it up for me.

I just couldn't figure out how you stating your sexuality segued into a topic of disliking homosexuality. That... wasn't the question... :XD:

I honestly have never heard of a sexuality where someone was attracted to animals, though I'm sure it's out there. I think that would fit more as "fetish" than "sexuality." I always figured that pansexuality was loving for the sake of love... in humans, that is. I don't think I really have a choice in who I fall in love with. I guess if a crossdressing third gender ze came along and I fell in love with them, well, that's just fine.

Post Re: Sexuality.
i am heterosexual. i do think that some women have beautiful bodies and look really good but i don't feel attracted to them at all.
i'm just 17 so you might think it's too early for me to be so sure. so i'll explain: like almost every teenager i've had my doubts about my sexuality. i thought i might be bisexual. thinking so, i had sex with a girl. i didn't feel any passion or desire for her, although i did/do think she is very beautiful. it's completely different with boys. i have a boyfriend right now and the physical attraction i feel for him is one of the strongest feelings i've ever felt. attraction doesn't have any connection to love in my book. i've been totally head over heels in love with a boy i wasn't attracted to. and of course, i've been attracted to boys i could never love. so far i've never felt any attraction towards any girl i've ever met.

seeing that i'm rather young, it's maybe bad that i don't think sex as a part of love. love, to me, is something that doesn't have to have anything to do with attraction. i think the love i will someday feel for my husband is exactly the same love i feel for my (female) friends and even my mother. it's completely based on personality(etc) and has nothing to do with looks. sex, however, is just sex. just body and attraction. even though i believe that love and attraction are both mental and start from the way we think, they are two completely different feelings which go great together but are not bad alone, either.

i don't have problems with other peoples' sexuality whatsoever. i think it's totally fine until two people are attracted to eachother and feel comfortable.

I see things the same way.

We live in a day and age where sex has become entirely unrelated to love for most people. I can't really tell if that's a good or bad thing. A lot of girls our age (I'm in the same age group) connect sex with love to a fault, where they'll have sex with someone they think they're head-over-heels for and it turns out they don't love them back, getting themselves hurt in the process. Relating sex with love can be dangerous for the heart in that sense.

Quite an interesting point that I forgot about, andy. I think some guys are good looking, but that doesn't mean I am attracted to them either, you can just tell I guess.

Metrion..

I think that is why, at least my parents, will tell me to wait til marriage which I don't intend on doing. But it seems like people seem to be just having sex to have sex. People pick up people at clubs, bars wherever to take em home and screw em just for the night usually. And about girls really liking guys and the guys not loving them back.. Yes, we seem to be the sex that put me in a bad situation a month ago. I REALLY liked this girl, near to a point of love, and she really liked me. We were on the verge of dating whenever her friend said I probably just wanted to have sex with her, which I LOVE THEE NOT! here can tell you, I seriously was actually not caring about it at that point from her.. Anyways, yeah, the males only wanting sex stereotype is a bit inaccurate in some cases, but many times guys just wanna have sex. (Oh guys, they wanna have se-ex. That's all they really wa-a-ant is se-e-ex! At any time of day, guys, they wanna have sex)</Cindy Lauper parody>

See, I don't understand the "men only want sex" stereotype at all. I think that's just something some women made up because they had their hearts broken when they gave themselves away to men who didn't love them. Men and women have different chemistry entirely going on in their brains - most men don't relate sex with love, while most women do. Obviously there are exceptions, such as you and I. Of course sex is a large part of any healthy relationship, but for women to bring up their daughters with the mentality that "all men want is sex" is unfortunate and inevitably incorrect.

Admittedly, I don't believe in waiting to have sex until after marriage. What exactly is that supposed to do? I would never want to marry someone and then find out that they couldn't satisfy me sexually.

Are we veering too far off topic?

A little yeah. But it's cool. If the discussion continues on that way then we can always make a new topic about sex and merge these styled posts with it.

But... I know one kid who only wants sex, but I did too when I was 12, though he's 16..Porn has a big thing to do with it.

If you wanna make a topic about sex or whatever, feel free to.

K, try to get back on topic now.

Offtopic: My bad :P Yeah, I type without thinking sometimes.. This button rules..

I think the main thing that questions sexuality is cause most people talk about it, it's mentioned in lots of places. I don't have to question mine though. I'm pretty knowing of what I like. Sexuality is an interesting topic though. It has many different views...and many different types.

Post Re: Sexuality.
Offtopic: Nah, I don't think we need a topic about sex. I have a feeling it would go nowhere fast. :P

I think one problem with the modern view of sexuality is that one's sexual identity has become glamorized by the media in TV and music, specifically songs like "I Kissed a Girl" by Katy Perry. While I obviously have nothing against homosexuals, this brought about a slew of what I like to call "faux bisexuals" in teenage girls. Suddenly, half of all of the girls I knew claimed to be "bisexual," bringing all of the day-time TV drama with them. I found quickly that what being a "bisexual" to them was the ability to make out with girls at parties to turn boys on and then quickly ditch their "girlfriends" for boyfriends instead. When asked, these "bisexual" girls claim that they would date a girl seriously, but never have, and usually don't at all during the duration of their "bisexuality." This has apparently become a spreading epidemic in middle schools and high schools from what I hear.

I was personally affected by this outbreak when a girl I had been seeing for about six months (which was more casual than I'd like to admit) decided that she didn't want to be gay anymore. It was heartbreaking because I thought I was the one that had turned her off of women, but she later told me that she wasn't ever interested in girls at all.

Sexuality is far less personal now than it was years ago, and has even become a manipulation tool. It's sort of strange how I'm extremely passive when it comes to other people and their lifestyles, but if someone under the age of 19 or so tells me that they are anything other than straight in real life, I usually don't believe them, if only because I've had too much experience with people who are confused. I think it's more of a trust issue on my part, though.

^ Agreed.
Katy Perry already pissed everyone off with "Ur so gay" then "I Kissed a Girl" came out and suddenly she's the hottest thing in music. You have to admit though - it's a really catchy song.
She makes up for her lameness with "Hot N Cold".
She has a way of making songs stick in your head, doesn't she?
