does anyone know how to find the absolute minimum value on (0,infinity) for f(x)=x-(1/x)+(10/x^3)

I know I have to find the derivative which I think is 1+x^-2-30x^-4 , but I don't know how to find the critical value from here, and I know there will only be one critical value.

It's not so bad when you get taught it, obviously you will get lost if you look at that problem before even taking the class. when my brother took this class he failed the first two tests and then dropped it though... but he's not book smart at all.

plus teachers have office hours so really doing well in college is 60 percent dedication and 40 percent natural ability.

And I'm telling you this on a day that I skipped math class -_- I need to stop being so lazy.

I think the "Asians are good at math" stereotype applies mostly to Chinese people.

I failed math for most of high school and I'm in beginners math and I have like two more math levels to go. I had like spaz attacks 'cause I didn't understand any of my last math lesson and got like a D on the test (before that, I did really well)
so BLUH.

I don't have classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays so there's no point for me to skip. I get so bored when I stay home and there's nowhere to go and no car or ride. blahblahblah

I got a 49% on my geometry quiz....heh. I don't understand how anyone gets that stuff.

My last lesson was Geometry! oh my god. I was doing so nice in that class UNTIL we got into Geometry. ahgfhfgkhgfkjhgkfjhgfjhjgh

and now I can't decide if I should upgrade my phone or not. I currently have an LGEnV3 which I had since Christmas 09 and I'm pretty attached to it. I don't really need phones for anything other than calls and texts. But there's this smart phone Droid Pro that's for free, minus the monthly payments for internet and stuff. I don't know if I should get it...the phone itself is free for upgrade, for now at least, but the reviews are not too pleasant.

Also, is some conspiracy going on? I keep on seeing "666 people like this" on so many things. wtf.

Geometry is kinda rediculous, to be honest. Proofs are hard, but you'll get them eventually.

I got a 53 percent on my last math test.... I blame the short time period we get. We get like no time and a little less than half the class doesn't get to finish the test.
The time cramp makes me more anxious than usual and it makes me think quickly and stupidly. If I had 30 more minutes to take these tests.... UGH.
I'm trying to calculate my average... I think I have like a 70 percent avg, so if I get like an 80 on the final I will pass with a C. (grading scale is easier, its my only saving grace.)
UGH. VOMIT. You have to learn so much in calculus in such a short time period. It's horrible.

EDIT: Also I took some adderall to stay up all night and focus on notes for my literature final and I still get easily distracted!!! WTF
