Paranormal Activity
Paranormal Activity was only shown in special places, but since 1 million people went on the site and demanded it, it's in all theaters.
Apparently people say it's the scariest movie yet, so I saw it. People in the audience were screaming and crying, and after the movie everyone clapped. The ending was really freaky and it made me scream, lol. Also my friend started to tear a bit.
It really was scary and disturbing, but after that I was like "Okay I'm fine now." But when I finally tried going to sleep I COULDN'T at all. I had to go into my parents room and sleep with them to fall asleep. I haven't done that in years, about 7.
Did anyone else see it? Did you think it was really scary or it was just dumb?
*The reason I made this into a topic because it is a big movie lol, everyone is talking about it and I wanna see peoples review on it.*
Also for people that never heard of it, here's the trailer;
My friends and I are all big horror movie fans. We watch the scarriest movies we can possibly find and are dieing to see this movie. Now that its in all theaters we're definitely going to go.
But I can guarantee you, it may be terrifying but it's definitely not the scarriest movie ever. There are plenty of movies, like August Underground (seriously don't watch it, most people can't even get past the first 15 minutes) and Cannibal Holocoust that have been ranked as the scarriest movies ever made. Even illegal in some countries and you can't find them in movie rental places. Yay for horror movies

I agree. I saw the trailer you put up and went 'looks as lame ass as every other horror I've seen' As much as I love horror I have never found a horror movie that has made me jump let alone 'freaked me out'. Looked into it, in Australia it's not out untill dec 3 I might give it a go but seriously it didn't look like any thing special.

I could barely sleep after watching The Grudge. o:
*puts on list of movies not watching in theaters*
I must watch scary movies (well, Saw has an exception) in the broad daylight, in my sunny living room. hehe.

Re: Paranormal Activity
I saw it. The last 20 minutes were pretty tense, but I am so jealosu of that director spending 15 thousand dollars and filming the whole thing in your own house, and getting 100 million off of it.
Edit: I decided to look up august underground and it had one review on rotten tomatoes, and after reading this part
"The film opens with the cameraman following him into the basement of a house perceivably owned by the two of them, only to find a girl tied up and covered in blood, missing her left nipple. The two of them proceed to torture her by smacking her around and forcing here to ingest her own feces"
I think i will pass. This seems more like really disgusting torture porn than a horror film.

I agree, Justin. I've heard of it, and even seen a few parts(mainly with the severed nipple girl) I don't find it scary or disturbing, it's simply stupid. People trying to shock the fear into you, it's uncreative, unoriginal, and a waste of time.

I saw this, and it wasn't scary until the end where he flies at the camera. =p That part was creepy.
Plus, I looked this up, it's not even real. The people who played Katie and Mica (spelling?) were actors.

Re: Paranormal Activity
Well torture films are by far my least favorite type of horror movie, they really are unoriginal and i hate it that the people have no way to escape because they are tied to a chair or something, chase scenes are so much better.
Also Kelsey is that serious? if that was real it probably would be kept in some top secret area 51 zone.

Sounds a little bit like a Lady Gaga music video!

Hmmm, The Blaire Witch Project anyone?
Psycho has more punch than this. Mr. Hitchcock was a man who definitely knew how to scare the bejesus out of you. And he didn't have to engage in torture porn to do so.

...lolz.
Well, I wasn't really that freaked out while watching it, but when I got home I was kind of like 'hm'. And then I kept thinking of the scene where she's in bed and smiling at the camera after he walks out and I was like 'oh shit'. But then I fell asleep. So all in all, not very scary, just creepy.

Re: Paranormal Activity
I saw an extended version of the trailer when I went to see 2012 - even that freaked me out and I had to watch old 1960's sitcoms to get to sleep.
But one of the girls at work told me about what happens... the minute the word 'demon' came out I went from "omfg I'll never sleep again..." to "Eh."
Still not sure whether to download it or not. I'm sure as hell not seeing it at the movies though. Dark room, massive screen? not a good combination.
