Post Hey, let's have a post count crisis!
...did they all suddenly go down for any particular reason? I'm down from over 3600 to 3000, and the Post Anniversaries thread has a lot of "YAY 4000"-type posts for people who are nowhere near it.

Is this a glitch or some unannounced clearout? All I could think of was another F&G extermination of the big post-pump threads, but I doubt nearly a 5th of all my posts were made in those.

Edit: Anyone notice any missing threads? As Shadowsim pointed out, the Chatterbox thread seems to have vanished...

I've got no idea what your talking about, but there probably has been a bit of a clean out or something of the older posts. (Like the F&G first through third generations of games like the Association Game)

It couldn't be an F&G clearout of older games, as newer member posts went way down too... I think they get cut regularly anyway, and there shouldn't be such a massive post decrease except for the regulars to those threads. If it was another 'spring cleanout' like the last one, I'd have thought us mods would be involved or would at least know about it (and I wouldn't expect it to happen again considering the member reaction last time). And the Chatterbox thread certainly has no reason to be culled that I know of.

The anniversary thread makes more sence after reading this. I'll post this then edit it to see if my posts went down.

1st edit: 1,000 POSTS I'VE LOST!!!! HOLY HECK!!!

Time to check Justin's posts *childish giggle*.

2nd EDIT: Justin was 2nd to poster, now he's 4th? There's no denying the problem now.

Also notice Non-sims games has no latest poster?

3rd EDIT: it can't be mass deletion, I saw a poost of Erhama saying he had 1455 posts, which apparently he has now. Then he made another post after that. If it was deletion that post would have gone.

4th Edit (I wonder if I'm getting paranoid?): I only seems to be active members who have been affected.

5th edit ( ): A lot of part 1 and 2 games have vanished, it may be my inability to search but I can't find the association game parts 1 and 2.

That was my guess...

Yep, you were my 4000-odd example. You seem to be one of the worst-affected. I wonder if there's some theme to what's gone here... Shadow, for example, only seems to have lost 10-ish posts.

Indeed:

That is quite weird but I can't think how it's related... it was like that a day or two ago, before this happened.

Why? I don't follow the logic here.

Anything recent missing, then? Besides the Chatterbox thread... D:

Yeah, they were probably wiped out a long time ago. Old F&G threads that have reached 1000 posts and have been locked generally get deleted after a while, particularly epic spamfests. But like I said, it's not generally to THIS extent... and I'm sure I've not made that many posts in the ones that'd be deleted. (And if it happens regularly, it'd be weird for so many to be gone at once.)

I'm posting here just to see where I'm at. I'm supposed to be 1800+.

*edit*

And I still am! Guess that means my posts aren't considered nonsence!

He should see this thread when he comes on anyway (well, in theory... the 'cute sim puppies' thread's gone over two weeks with no word from him since the not-very welcome change). I've not seen him online today, yet. Has he actually read your PM? If so, then... oh.

...that better not be intentional. Snooty wouldn't do that deliberately, would he...? Especially without notifying anyone, including mods. I mean, obviously it wouldn't go down well with anyone.

(I suppose we could have a rogue mod. *stares at you all*)

Edit: Wasn't there a 'favourite forum memories' thread recently too? That seems pretty odd to delete. I don't know, it's hard picking out what's gone when... well, it's gone.

That was deleted too? D:
Whoever is doing it their pattern confuses me greatly... If I wake up tommorow and find out more threads have been randomly deleted I think I'll go spastic.

My post count's been stable since I logged in hours ago, so I guess nothing's doing it right now. Maybe everyone should just stare at the Who Is Online box all day looking for clues and hope threads are actually recoverable (Snooty still makes back-ups, right?).

"Last thing you said" is also gone, fact fans.

Edit: And "the person above me". F&G wipeout too? It's a bit inconsistent.

(Mods have deleted threads by accident in the past... but in at least two seperate sections, that seems unlikely. Though I'm not sure how it's done in just one either.)

Another edit: I found "Favourite Forum Memories" through Google and when I clicked it, I was sent to Masturbation: the thread.

...?

And another edit: Both the new year threads, too... at least they were outdated, I guess. Though that makes me suspect this is deliberate rather than a glitch... like someone's come in and halted what look like the most 'useless' threads on the front pages of the off-topic forums.

Half of those were my favourites! I can see how all the posts have gone down now. Note to self, don't post in f and g and chatterbox anymore,

Lets have an official investigation.

Snooty: wouldn't do it, that would just be plain stupid after all, he had no motive.
Rhea: not been here in a while , possible but I doubt it. She wouldn't have any motive.
boines: The way he only posts in technical help is suspicious, maybe he had something again off topic threads. Again though, I don't think so.
britlovessims,Been known to post things like "booozzzeee". Too responsible though.
Dumdadum, She has been back lately....but too respected to do anything like that.
Bonkywop,
Roxas: same as above.
me: no.
Justin:Although all the odds point to him I don't think he'd get rid of so many posts.
A hacker:. Most likely. Except SS is free from hackers (I think). So unlikely.

EDIT: In another note, its not saying when a post has been edited.

There must be a problem. If there was a massive cleanout of important topics like that, I'd like to think that the mods would have been informed.

Either we have a disgruntled mod, or someone made the mistake of deleting entire threads instead of posts. I did that once...but the threads were like 2 pages long...not anything massive. Except, if it's a whole load of threads maybe it was intentional? It could just be technical issues...

Edit: Looks like I get to hit 4000 again!

I'm kind of upset that the advent thread is gone. Good memories in there...

Snooty and boines are probably the most erratic of the mods, but I wouldn't think either of them would go deleting active threads people clearly like... I'm relying on Snooty to have made a back-up, really. We might lose a few recent posts if we reverted to that but we haven't said anything much worthwhile over the past few days, have we?

By the way, mikeInside's was hacked recently, the place is down at the moment. COINCIDENCE? *Twilight Zone theme*
