Post School ideas
Many people have been asking for a school and job ep were u can control your sims when there in school and at work. I for one would love that idea, But i really doubt they will add this. This could be an idea for an ep like that or just as a ep add-on.I do think they said that there will be two schools but i dont member.
This is how i would hope it would work:

There will be two public school buildings that will cover all ages one on the west side of town and one on the other side of town.. Then there would be a privite school on the beach that will have a dock connected to the school. Now instead of the kid and tenager sims goin to school and coming back in a bad mood for public and good moods for privite school and arive home with homework that takes like 4 hours to do i hope ur children and teenager sims can learn more then just that. They should be able to learn skills. In the sims they said that there will be alot more specific skills. So maybe thell add for sims a education skills. There could be Math, science, Writing, and reading. Instead there would be only 5 points u can earn for A,B,C,D,F. Skill points will affect how well u comprehead things and the more educations points u have the eiaser it is to get a job in certain career tracks. Ur sim will also get Homework in some of there subjects and if there struggling that amy be a good time to get a parent to help. The better grade u have in that class the faster the homework is. It may take 1 to 4 hours, they also said that homework wont always be a piece of paper u scrible on, Sometimes u have to catch fish or to check out the local museum. Now i like this and would like to enhance it to greater depth. It will say what ur sim is studing. Such as in science maybe ur studying fish and they want you to catch a rare fish well during school u may earn skill points in fishing. Also maybe u pick an elective and its cooking ull earn maybe some cooking points, or if u have art as an elective ur homework will involve going to the museum alot and u will earn art points. Or if ur in band music points and so on.
I think they really could do this. And possibly add this if they make a work and school ep.

I love this idea, i've always wanted a school ep but i think private school should actually cost. That would be cool for sims to actually pay for school.

Im not really into comming home from school and then playing my sims at school. Work and school are likely to create tedious and boring gamplay one the novelty value is gone.

I wouldn't want to follow my sims into school or work because it creates tedious gameplay that doesn't fit in with the new open story-telling feel of TS3. I would, however, love it if my teenage sims could pick an elective if they wanted and earn extra skills, but have to work harder to complete out of school related assignments. Although this would be a very cool feature for an education/college themed expansion pack.

Yeahhh, sorry, but I have to agree with Klepto, I felt like University was more of a chore that just had to be done because it gave you such a massive benefit to your Sim's life.
I, personally, feel like we have enough control with the Sim's work life by being able to tell them what to focus on during the day. Hehe, which brings up an interesting point, I wonder if you will be able to do something similar with children & teenagers with school. :spin:

the class names were hilarious and everything, but ya, way too much work. it would be cool if there was a local college that was just a rabbit hole the sim could go to

I agree, after the inital exitement of playing through university for the first time it became quite tedious. The game was advertised as being a very fun portion of a sims lifetime doing all the funt hings that typical uni students get up to. However with all the work you had the choice between an A or your sims having fun, which wasnt really all that fun after a couple times round anyways.

If a Uni like EP was to arrise, in TS3 style a great improvement upon TS2 equivilent would need to be made to create some long term fun gameplay.

Yeah, if they ever did this it should be optional for you to go with your sim to work and play mini-games or watch him work/go on break/eat lunch. Besides thats kinda big, every little aspect about every little job/promotion for every job+new EPs would lead to different/more jobs which this EP wouldn't be able to keep up with.

Especially if they're rich!

Then a poor family could spend tons and tons to send their only child to the private school. *aw*

What a nice little story to act out.

I like it.. yeah I think private school should cost.

and I like University because it got boring after the sims were done studying, I mean, I would study my sims for one day.. then they would be done studying and it'd be really boring because I think some of the fun is trying to get your sims to do their school work while at the same time playing around, but when you don't have anything to do...
thats why I always used the cheat to graduate them and live in on their own because I got bored being on campus after a while.

I like the idea of private school costing money, too. That would just be another thing that sets the rich sims apart, which would help with storyline building. That's a cool idea.

No, yet there only being one school has been confirmed. Which leaves private school at about a 10% chance.

I like the idea of them having electives at class that allow them to earn skill points: home ec-cooking and sewing badge (if that was added later); ag class - gardening skill, art class-creativity..... I also like the idea of students having projects. Not all homework are boring worksheets or simple q/a's at the end of the chapter. They could have research papers periodically, or (as you said) go to a museum to study up on a subject. I think that an EP with this included could really have a lot to offer and give the kids more of a "purpose" than just playing cops and robbers for hours-on-end. I don't think that I would want to play them at school, but it would be nice to have the option to "pop" in and to encourage your sim child to "pay attention to lecture", or "ask another sim child to sit with your sim" (at lunch).
