Re: Sims 3 EP: Destination Adventure
Either it will be a video or maybe your sim can moveable and do things on the plane or such (silly). But The facts will be it's going to be a loading screen. So long as it doesn't take forever I suppose it's forgivable.

Re: Sims 3 EP: Destination Adventure
I really hate when they give no real info, just 'teasers'. It builds up hope & expectations which are usually dashed to the wind upon release. Some of the best movies/games are those that were not hyped, as no one had any expectations to start with.
For example, this new EP immediately gets me thinking of a 'Central' holiday neighbourhood where Sims from Sunset Valley AND Riverview (& any custom 'hood) can all visit. Mr Smith from Sunset Valley can meet Mrs Jones from Riverview & maybe start a holiday romance. Friends you meet from other neighbourhoods can keep in touch via emails, & become 'Penpals'. Maybe even Sunset Valley Sims can actually visit Riverview & stay in an all new 'Hotel' Lot. Or Riverview Sims can all vacation in Sunset Valley & take in the sun whilst tanning on the beach.
The imagination is a very powerful thing, & just giving out little 'teasers' like this is sure to lead to mass disappointments.
Those of you who had the Pirate copy pre-release & posted your info & pics here I am very grateful. Information concerning Sims 3 prior to that was all just speculation from 'teasers' that were given. Thanks to you guys my expectations dropped & thus when I got my copy on release I had no illusions, no expectations shattered. As such I am still very much enjoying The Sims 3.

Re: The Sims 3: Destination Aventure. First EP?
Bon Voyage was one of the most boring EPs of The Sims 2.
I hope we will get seasons with it. That's what most of the community wants. If we don't, I will be disappointed.

Bon Voyage was an awesome EP, imo, it kept me entertained trying to succeed in getting all the mementos.

Yeah, i hope we get weather with it, we shouldn't have had to buy 2 expansion packs for that. It'd also be good if they added an extension onto the 2 neighborhoods already there which is an airport or something?

Re: Sims 3 EP: Destination Adventure
Translation is :
First add on the Sims 3 to land, Destination Adventure offers travel scenery to break the dullness of everyday life.
It also says there is currently no pictures
Do you think theyll bring in weather so they can make snowy and sunny destinations? I havent really had a chance to play sims 3 properly!

I assume it will connect the two towns. As well as some new ones.

Re: Sims 3 EP: Destination Adventure
Maybe the EP will just expand the neighborhoods, adding vacay destinations significantly farther away from your sims' homes than other community lots but still with no loading time... I really hope there won't be any loading time, I was so happy to finally be free of it.

Ugh, I really don't want another vacation EP.
I'll probably overlook it if it doesn't include weather.

Re: The Sims 3: Destination Aventure. First EP?
Translation from the site: "First add one of Sims 3 to unload, Destination Ventures proposes voyages dépaysants to us to leave the greyness of its daily newspaper."
If it is a holiday EP, the time is not right!
No businesses for about 7 months then, till EP 2?

Icarus wrote: Ugh, I really don't want another vacation EP. Me too. It's typical EA copypasta: The Sims: Vacation -> Bon Voyage (It's French, so it must be different!) -> Destination Adventure (Let's just mix up a bunch of words from what we wrote for the travel guides in Sims 2 and call it our expansion kthxbai) Shani wrote: Maybe the EP will just expand the neighborhoods, adding vacay destinations significantly farther away from your sims' homes than other community lots but still with no loading time... It's like writing. Making stuff naturally instead of forcing it will be more enjoyable and less artificial. Now Simcity Rush Hour was a good expansion pack.

Do you think we'll be able to send the wife on vacation and leave the husband home and still play them both by switching back and forth?I hope so and I hope there is no loading screen to get to the vacation place.

Re: Sims 3 EP: Destination Adventure
You guys are forgetting something about Bon Voyage from Sims 2...
Bon Voyage introduced swimmable oceans. To me this seems like a very logical choice, because many people on this site were disappointed that you couldn't swim in the ocean.
Maybe the beaches of Sunset Valley will become real beaches. People swimming, tanning, playing in the water. Just because it is a Vacation EP doesn't mean that the only addition HAS to be a vacation destination. Some of the features could work in Sunset Valley.

I would LOVE swimmable oceans in S3! Actually, I'd just like a boat so we can get to the lighthouse and put a house there.

Re: Sims 3 EP: Destination Adventure
I wouldent mind one loading screen to go on vacation, but what would be cool is you could go to the beach and there could be things like swimming, tanning vollyball and you can even go on boat tours and stuff. There could also be like 3 diffrent ship rides were you can cruise around the sea and you can control your sims on a cruise! The island could be used and they could build mountains and over the mountians are things like rock climing cabins and hotels. There could also be hotels on the island and near the beach. Skiing and snowboarding to on the mountian. then past the mountain area there could be camp grounds with cool buildings. You could also do things in the water like snorkling! Weather could be added, and some new Nightlife buildings. This is what i think could be added.

What were you using to translate that?
Just curious. I translated it two days ago using google's and it came out cleaner.
No worries.

Re: Sims 3 EP: Destination Adventure
Sadly, all the ideas are nice but again.... This is EA. there will try to add very little, but only enough that the pack might be worth buying even though it'll be overpriced for the content we get. They are not the most creative people in the world either. Sims games kind of lost the touch when EA took it totally over. While there might be some people still from Maxis on the team, I highly doubt many. Maxis made great games in the past. EA is only ruining their good record. Same as they did with bullfrog...

Re: Sims 3 EP: Destination Adventure
I'm hoping DA will be much more than a rehash of Vacation/Bon Voyage. I never liked Vacation much and didnt buy BV. But if it does add weather, sadly, I will buy it.

Re: The Sims 3: Destination Aventure. First EP?
i used babelfish.
From what I've learnt regarding translations, they never seem to be clean. Even before the internet I remember my dad telling me that its quite common for something like
"I'm going to my friends house" when translated, could become "To my comrades abode, I venture"
Some languages don't have words that other languages do, so translations are often just a close equivalent.
