I didn't post anything I wasn't suppose to or use fowl language why would they ban me?Arn't they suppose to tell you the reason your banned?They didn't even give me a warning nor did they tell me why or how long I have been banned.

Poor judgement on EA's part.I sent them an email today about this.I guess they ban people for no reason now.Dumb simgurus.

That sucks, and its pretty odd you weren't given a warning or anything either.

Maybe it is a system error or mistake on their part (which is still pretty ridiculous, they should be more careful)

Yea I tried to download something from the store I received as a gift and it won't let me.Does banning stop you from using the store too?

It shouldn't. Forums are separate from a website. And besides, they can't ban someone from buying things in the store if they are a paying customer and have purchased points to use in the store. You'd have to do something pretty bad or illegal for that to happen.

Yea, I wouldn't think banning from forums would equal banning from the store, has to be some kind of error. And as Little-V said, to get banned from the store you would really have to do something terrible, lol, they don't want to stop people from spending their money there!

I was finally able to download something but I still can't post on the forums which sucks and EA hasn't replied to my email.Is it true people get permantly banned there?I hope not.

I just got my response back from EA and I got banned for posting the link to the 6 christmas items that are in the collectors edition but they didn't tell me how long I'm banned for.They are still at fought for not giving me a warning.They owed it to me.Anyway I had to send another email asking them how long I'm banned.They didn't answer that question.They said my violation was serious.Hope I'm not banned for too long.

Yes it is silly but they called it a serious violation.They said something like I was linking to an offsite link or something that takes people away from their site.Anyway they told me 72 hours.That's 3 days I'm banned for.He said they sent me a message that I had got banned but it wasn't in my email.

I was banned myself, too. I think it's because I posted a link to More Awesome than You. Because the next day, my account had been revoked.


On another note, this happened over a month ago (despite the fact that e-mail said I would get my account back in 72 hours). I don't think you or I will ever get our accounts back to full status....

I was temporarily suspended from the Spore website back when I actually played it. I censored my own post by using ***'s in a bad word so I wouldn't actually spell it out, but because it was a "violation of the forum's censor system", technically I was breaking a HORRIBLE OMG WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE rule. Websites like that are so damn anal. It's pathetic.

Tell me about it, I got a 6 month ban from Habbo a few years back for telling someone my real first name.

Anyway, the ban's understandable, you were linking to some pirated objects, although in hindsight they probably should have explained why you were being banned.

This is why I never go to the anally strict forums.

I just stay at more laid back forums like here where we don't get banned for a ridiculous amount of time for no reason.

Send them an email and remind them you was suppose to get your account back in 72 hours and your still banned prehaps they forgot to unban you.

I thought that the ban is set on a timer... i didn't think there is a person sitting there bannig and unbannig people?

I hope not prehaps they could reset the timer.I'm hoping to be back on there Thursday.I have to thank someone on there for sending me a gift on my wishlist from the store and I also need to answer her thread she left for me today.

Sounds like EA is really cracking down on the forum... maybe if they listened to the community and didn`t have the stupid store, people wouldn`t pirate the items and make them available for free, then you woulnd`t have to link to them and none of this would ever happen! Way to go EA, you get a Gold Star for being idiots!

There has been a few large sites I did some moderation on, and we could do it either way. We could set a timer or go in and do it ourselves if we needed to end it early or extend it. It is possible they set a timer but didn't set it properly and are not aware it was setup wrong and didn't expire, so asking them about couldn't hurt.

Well I just fired up another email to them.I reminded them my 72 hours expires at Midnight and I begged them to unban me.I told them someone made a post for me and I needed to answer her and also thank her for the gift she sent me from the store.I also mentioned I have a holiday thread I put up and need to update it.

I told them I learned my lesson and would never link to places like this again.I also let them know if they don't unban me they will get an email every day till they do.This is how I got my job.I sent them a resume every day for 2 weeks.I figure EA will get tired of it and unban me.

You will be able to use your account after 11:16:44 hours. Account suspensions typically last 72 hour and start approximately at the time you receive the notification

Does that mean tonight after 11:16pm?

It's past this time and I'm still banned so they must have meant tomorrow morning.I may have to fire another email too them to remind them tomorrow.
