 Paying the bill
Okay, it really, really annoys me how people argue about how they want to pay the bill at a restaurant when they're on a date... I mean, let the other person pay, it's free food practically, it's not like you owe them, because THEY chose to pay the bill instead of you.

 Re: Paying the bill
How random, but yus, my mother will always be the one to settle these sorts of things. Quickly disbanding the discussion of who will pay, and saying all will pay an equal amount.

 Re: Paying the bill
I always go half, or pay for the food I got. Makes me sound like I've been on loads of dates, but I mean just going for dinner in general :')

 Re: Paying the bill
I think that people generally feel it is polite to protest and offer to pay or at least pay for half. I know I do because I wouldn't want the other person so think that I expect them to pay or that I'm taking advantage of them.

Yeah, but arguing and bitching and ruining a relationship? Yeah, that's just going too far over about 40-50 dollars.

 Re: Paying the bill
It depends on who I'm with. Some of my friends are happy to split the bill equally while some would prefer to pay for their part of the meal. It depends on how we eat as well; if we're sharing, we'll most likely split it equally. If I pay for someone, then they'll pay for me next time etc.

Eventually I give up and then try to return the favor next time. I can tell if the person genuinely wants to pay or if they're just being polite. You've gotta know when to let it go and just say thanks.

 Re: Paying the bill
If it's a date I always take out my wallet and offer to pay and then if they say 'no it's okay' then wooo free food. Arguing is just silly, guys like to pay sometimes.
