 New Gamescon Preview.
http://www.simsnetwork.com/simpedia.php ... 010=ts3ep3Uh...well I don't know about you guys. But I found that article pretty dissapointing. Elavators may not be new buyable objects? No lower level apartments? No elavated pools(Though I think the auther may be wrong on this one) Was Grant purposefully misleading us? He definitly mentioned Penthouses AND apartments in the Twitter interview. I REALLY hope this is not true. I'm also dissapointed with the lack of objects...the auther didnt mention anything new in the object department. I hope thats not all there is.

I did feel a little disappointed, but there's still a lot to look forward to. I'm hoping there's going to be a cheat to be able to build floors below the penthouse, kinda World Adventures basement-style. The elevators will be buyable, the author sounded misleading, but this has been confirmed and I think he/she's just worrying.

 Re: New Gamescon Preview.
one thing I have learned from this article that i must have missed is that we can build and maintain bars? So sort of like open for business?
Also one thing that stuck out is that Vampires look like regular sims. I am wondering if this means there is no real vampire skin and that Sims when turned will maybe just have their eyes changed or something.

I wonder if you have to purchase a community lot and whatnot? Anyways, it seems that with every EP EA is adding a 'new' business aspect to it. In regards to the apartments; it could possibly work out that you can only live on the higher levels of the building. This I can live with just because we are getting much more in this game other than apartments. I am curious about the new cheats that are comming with this game because that could mean that we could 'cheat' and create our own low-rise apartments.

Well EA ARE known for phrasing things to make them sound like something they're not... Infact most companies try to rephrase things so it sounds like there are more features, when really its the same, rephrased a few times..

I'm disappointed as well. Both the base game and the EPs all seem unfinished. All the rabbit holes, sims get automagically in their cars, apartments on top of prop buildings. Awful World Adventure EP instead of a vacation one. An SP about cars?! Cars that only are magic props in the game and you can't even let your sims SIT in them! Late Night with no downtown to connect to the town you're playing? Bars, but will there be real barristas or only drinks coming from nowhere, or do our sims mix the drinks themselves? No restaurants? No nightclubs? I hope a more serious game company will make a better life-simulation game that feels more logic and real.

I agree that there shouldn't be restaurant rabbit-holes. But if that was case, your culinary career would probably turn into an ambitions career (which would be a good thing I would think..); or your culinary employed sims will disappear somewhere in the restaurant to show that they are working. Some work rabbitholes I can live with. I think that getting into cars magically is a good thing because it allows more flexibility when it comes to garages and parking spaces. And if you had to place driveways, you would probably need flat land to connect the driveway to the road; flat lots are hard to come by which makes that difficult. And with LN comming out, it would definitely be possible to have parking garages since you wouldn't need to worry about the geometrics of having an ascending/descending driveways. I agree about sims sitting in a car. They should have that option so that I can quickly get some sim parents to conceive another child before their other children get home from school . Only penthouses are going to be ontop of prop buildings.... Where does it say that all of the apartments are going to be at the top too? I was under the impression that you just couldn't have an apartment on the first floor lol. WA is about adventuring not vacationing. And I think that it does what it's suppose to do. Although I do agree that there should have been some more activities to learn about the foreign cultures and that sims should have the ability to swim in the ocean. I'm glad that there's a stuff pack about cars. I'm really glad that EA decided on a more masculine stuff pack this time. I don't think that we have the more variable car selection and you don't have to buy it if you think cars are lame. I do agree that we should have a downtown sub-neighbourhood. It really bugs me that we're going to have to place the buildings ourselves. And trust me, Sunset Valley is not flat... so the buildings tend to look like shit unless you do some hardcore editing. About the bars, there have been several confirmations (including the release teaser trailer) that shows bartenders mixing drinks for sims. And there are nightclubs, it's been confirmed in other interviews, and I'm sure that there are more rabbithole restaurants (not that that is a good thing). You make it sound as if it isn't comming with anything lol.

About the elevator not being a buyable object, they said they weren't sure about that, no need to jump to conclusions
As for the whole night club thing, that was news to me. I didn't know we could own our own bars OFB style, unless they're wrong about that in some sort of way. Either way I'm still excited for this EP

Some work rabbitholes I can live with. The rabbithole bistro could still be there, but NPCs could work in the restaurants like in Sims 2. (or playable sims that become non-playable during work hours). Quote: I think that getting into cars magically is a good thing because it allows more flexibility when it comes to garages and parking spaces. You're right, that's a good thing NOW, but EA could have made a better traffic system for the game from the beginning. It feels unfinished and very compromised. Quote: I agree about sims sitting in a car. They should have that option so that I can quickly get some sim parents to conceive another child before their other children get home from school . Yup, and with a good traffic system they could drive to a romantic place on a hill and see the hole town under the stars while they are having a nice time. Quote: Only penthouses are going to be ontop of prop buildings.... Where does it say that all of the apartments are going to be at the top too? I was under the impression that you just couldn't have an apartment on the first floor lol. The impression I've got is that there only will be one apartment in each tall building and a rabbithole on the bottom floor. Quote: WA is about adventuring not vacationing. And I think that it does what it's suppose to do. Although I do agree that there should have been some more activities to learn about the foreign cultures and that sims should have the ability to swim in the ocean. Yeah EA wanted WA to be different from Bon Voyage, but with the traveling thing in it I don't think EA will make another EP that is about vacationing. Most people travel for vacation so when EA left that out in their EP with traveling it also feels unfinished. Quote: About the bars, there have been several confirmations (including the release teaser trailer) that shows bartenders mixing drinks for sims. That's good. Since Sims 3 came out I'm suspicious about everything they do. Quote: You make it sound as if it isn't comming with anything lol. Hehe, that's because I want Sims 3 to be like Sims 2 but more realistic and with many more things to do. Not like "the sims ate food in the first and second game, so we take that out so it doesn't feel like a repetition".
