I swear, the official Sims 3 forum is the worst. It has so many glitches. Is anyone else not able to go into threads? Everytime I click on a thread, it never loads.

You're not likely to get a clear answer, because the only other person I know on here who goes on the forums is sharkloverplayer.

i use it! it is bad yes, but going through CAW threads is fun.

I hate the entire Sims 3 site and only go on there when I check out new store stuff, I never go near the forum and I don't find the exchange inviting, the MySim pages are useless and I just ignore the stories and movies.

The forum is quite a mess, I'll give you that. It's frustrating just trying to use it. Once you are able to actually see the forum, you don't see much of anything of substance. All of the people who make valid complaints about the game or get a little frustrated with something that EA does just get told off.

That's actually what frustrates me the most about that forum, people who think that they can make these topics saying "Stop complaining!". A forum asking for ways to improve upon the game won't have said benefit if people can't bring up the ways to improve upon the game, now can it? All of those anti-complainers will just be complaining when EA does something that effects them anyway.

Best just to stay away from the forum. Forums like that are so oversaturated and impersonal. Which is fine, I suppose, but there is a tooonnnn of spam. Probably the reason why it acts up so much, there are so many people using it. Still I'm not quite sure what kind of issue could bring up these errors: "You don't have sufficient privileges to view this forum" or even "You have been banned" (I think I saw something like that once even though I had not been banned.) Then there was the fact that the Late Night forum only showed up on occasion for a month or so.

^ Exactly, I didn't really like the sims 2 BBS so have completely avoided this one altogether. I'm so glad I discovered this place or I'd be a BBStard.

Something else that makes the forum worse is all of the pretentious people there who think they're know it alls. Not to mention the trolls who gather because they're so baitable.

I admit I was on the official Sims 3 forum for a while. There are SO MANY threads on there about people whining about the whiners. LOL! And it's very glitchy. I haven't even been able to get on at all for the past week. They're having really serious problems with it at the moment (even more than usual, that is). I'm mystified why the entire company (EA) is full of computer programmers, yet they can't manage to maintain a forum without it going down almost every day. I know there are a LOT of people on the forum, though ... maybe they have problems just because of how many people want to be on it at any one time.

I am agreeing with this entire thread as well.

The forums move way too fast for anyone to process anything. I doubt that EA will even look at it because its full of junky threads. By the end of the week, on average, your own created thread will probably be on page 12.

AND no one on those forums reads longer posts (even if its paragraphed) because they seem to have the attention span of a meercat...

It's like the forums are on speed...

I hate that. I spend the weekends with my boyfriend so I'm never online for a few days, so if there's a thread I'm trying to help someone in in the technical discussion forum and follow up with their problem, I can never find the topic after 3 days. It's damn near impossible, I've just stopped trying or hope that someone else posts in the topic to bring it back to the front page.

I haven't checked the new forum, but I remember the old Sims 2 official forum wasn't THAT bad until the last year of it.

Official forums tend to be crap because of the companies putting little attention to it, giving power into the wrong hands, and poor moderation in general.

The moderation there makes no sense. They move topics from one section to another that doesn't make even the least bit of sense. Plus you know all of those game topics? Some of them get locked, while others stay there. They need to make up their minds.

I just looove when I would ask a question and someone will ask me things that I answered in my original post.
Ummm, if you would have bothered to read my post then you would know the answer.

It's always something obvious. like "I removed all of my cc and I still have that problem."

"Did you try removing your cc?"

Forums usually have pretentious members anyway, so I really see no difference.

I wouldn't say its the worst ever there are probably alot worse out there but I have to admit it is glitchy and doesn't work quite often but thats expected expecilly with all the traffic comming around since the release of the new expansion latenight. It will probably get better with time and patients.

I wouldn't call it the worse forum ever. I know of this other forum that you have to actually pay money to join, which is ridiculous and therefore worse.

They're saying it's the worst because of the glitches.

And let me say that is the most glitchiest forum I have ever seen ever. Posts are never properly posted for me. I always get that white screen and need to go back to the topic page and reload to make sure that it didn't post (because sometimes it does. And sometimes it doesn't. You never know.) Oftentimes I run into about 2 more errors when trying to do that (Liam and "you don't have sufficient permission") and of course when I try to post it again I get another error, and then usually it has finally posted but I only ever know by going back to the topic and reloading it.

That is just the most messed up forum ever and they really need to fix that up. It's ridiculous. I can't enter a single section of the forum without seeing the "you don't have sufficient permission" message first. And then of course there is the error where the main forum doesn't properly show up and only shows the titles of the sections, which I see all of the time.

Sadly, it's not like the game itself is any better.
