Your Sims now have a way to influence their friends and acquaintances to live it up at social gatherings!
When they are at bars and parties, your Sims have the “Convince To…” interaction that lets you suggest two other Sims do certain socials with each other. If you are successful, you can change relationships by bringing two Sims closer together than ever before or making them hate each other.

Groups
It’s more fun if friends hang out together as a group! Invite other Sims to spend time with your Sim by using the “Form Group” social. Your Sim can also use the phone to “Invite Over” or “Invite Out” other Sims. There may be up to eight Sims in a group at a time.
Sims in a group will stick together when traveling to bars and other venues. Group members will follow your Sim when they travel to other locations. Look for special group interactions on certain buildings, such as the Theater, Stadium, or Day Spa.
If you want to remove a Sim from the group, direct your Sim to use the “Ask to Leave” social on the Sim you want to leave.
If you want your Sim to leave the group, use the “Quit Group” interaction to remove only that Sim. Or use “Disband Group” to end the group immediately.

i loved that interview that was linked. there's something about karen tong that is so cute. although, i was kind of hoping that influencing wouldn't be back. i thought it was pointless and stupid in the sims 2. but i am glad it's called 'convincing' instead.

I like now how sims will be able to see a show with their friends at the theater and see a game together at the stadium.

really? that's awesome. i've always wanted my sims to see a movie together or something. where did you read about that?

Geez, I don't check the forum for 1 day, and there's a couple new vids and a bunch of new screens. Those screen shots are great. I'm totally in love with the new town. It looks really nice. I also noticed in the gameplay video that there was an abundance of taxis. I some how doubt that every one of those were filled with sims and wonder if they added random taxis to give it a more city feel (not that I have a problem with that)

I think the last time I was this excited for an EP was when witches came back in Sims 2

Geez you can make your sims really ripped. Is that progressive with working out like thin/fatness is? Or can it only be adjusted with the sliders in CAS?

I'm wondering the same thing. I hope by working out they do start looking like that.

That's a very good point about whether they update how the sim looks in game if you work out. I hope it'll work like that. D:

I wonder if hte new muscle slider is actually 'lumpy' (like abs) or if its just 'painted' onto the skin... I hope its actually lumpy...


As for a video where i saw pigeons (could have been a different post but i can't find it now) WHY AM I SO EXCITED FOR THESE?! Seriously, I want these pigeons so bad... They will just add more life.. Wow... I was actually talking with an IRL friend, and we were saying how it needed more 'objecty animals' like pigeons and squirrels, just to breathe a bit more life into the game.. and the gave it to us!! :D

They actually affect the mesh of the sim, like the fat sliders.

I was actually surprised to see the pigeons too, my eyes probably widened a little I never expected to see actual birds. I wonder if they fly away if your sim gets too close to them, or if you can feed them bread crumbs or something. Where I live we have crows all over (some would consider them ravens for how big they get), but in the city it's all pigeons, so little things like that really adds alot

Though crows would get annoying, like how they wake you up at 5 AM with their "ka ka ka"ing like a broken alarm clock that will never turn off. Then just when you've had enough, the neighbors call the police for hearing gun shots

Thx for all the info hunting SLP....but I have to say this is just too much info now. I like surprises
