Yes I mentioned Riverside in the post too but there was a Waterside as well. Also another interesting find this time in Nightlife. Does anybody remember the contest where users got to design an outfit for Nightlife and four winners were picked. Well the model Sims featured other custom objects like eye color, skin tone, facial hair, and make-up and these were not included in the game. But while poking around in the Nightlife files I found them there.

Hi, I'm kinda new to this forum thing, but I was wondering, for example...Is it possible there's a beta version of the Sims 2 out there with most, if not all, of the unused accessories still on it?

Jewelry is still shown as the first part of Step 5 for CAS in the base game files so I guess they cut that really late. To bad too did anybody else see the belly ring mesh in the game files lol.
And to answer the question about Riverside yes it used the same template as Pleasantview. Maxis released a video and someone uploaded it on youtube embedding isn't working for me right no so just look up Riverside flyby.

And on the subject of cut hoods there are three neighborhood descriptions in neighborhood manager that correspond to deleted beta hoods.
That sounds really interesting. Could you tell me where in neighborhood manager these are, or better yet, post them?

Never seen this trailer before. It shows quite a few differences; most notably being the CAS screen at 1:15 in the video. And look at all those hairstyles! There's two beehives! ;;P

Re: Unused Accessories Megathread: Your #1 Guide to Maxis's
I've noticed something weird about the beta. The sims used to get straight to the point and didn't wait around after actions, it sometimes looked like the visitors had two actions queued up autonomously. I wonder why they took this feature out... I've also noticed that the final release isn't as realistic as the beta.
I remember in one video, where Don was cheating on his wife with Dina, and his wife's sister walked in and caught them. She then told Sarah about the affair autonomously. I don't think I've seen this happen before in-game, which really sucks. It seems like a cool feature.
I've also seen some really early beta videos, from like 2003 where the animations were really different, in some ways, some were better. Like they'd pose differently while talking, maybe sway around a little while talking. How I miss these features. </3

The HUD is totally unrecognisable here, and look at the chairs and toilet! It looks like this is a very, very early screenshot. Nice to see that at least some outfits survived.
Hmmm, the fabled 9th motive, family. Or is it friends? Well, one became social eventually. And the school bus had lots of kids inside it. At least we know why they cut that out.

God, i love early screenshots. Theres one where the UI is purple. And that kid's bus thing would have NEVER worked. It didn't make it to TS3, either, so I guess they were thinking a bit too far ahead of themselves.

Re: Unused Accessories Megathread: Your #1 Guide to Maxis's
Oh wow, look at those oldschool screenshots! haha! Its strange, the first one is almost like the sims 1 but 3D, if that makes sense.
And why wouldn't the bus thing work? I always wondered why the kids vanished into the bus, It would have worked better in ts2 than in ts3, because if i have kids in my family, they're the only kids in the NH. In sims 2 there were tons in families i got got bored with, premades etc.
Re: Unused Accessories Megathread: Your #1 Guide to Maxis's
OMG, It REALLY looks like they kinda ported the character models over from TS1...Also, in the early video, they even had the unused Frenchbraid! X_x If only there was a way to get all these hairstyles...=/ On that note, how does one get those bloody cardigans out?
