Yes, it is real. Here is the official cover, and it is legit.

Image

Reason why it is official is because not anybody can just up and make renders, and that the new EA logo for The Sims division is on the cover.

Source is Simfans.

That cover's a lot better than the previous one that'd been released. Love the new furniture, 'specially the hot tub and trellis bench.

More info on the pack:
Spoiler:
Start the BBQ Party Right with an Outdoor Grill, Fire Pits, New Hot Tubs and More for Your Sims’ Backyard Festivities

Every Sim knows that all outdoor parties need three things: food, fun and an outdoor grill. Throw in a few hot tubs and the party just became perfect. Announced today and available in February 2011, The Sims 3 Outdoor Living Stuff pack is designed for you to enjoy hosting parties, playing outside and spending your nights soaking in the hot tub!

Start the party right by giving your Sims everything they need for a stylish and comfortable outdoor living space with The Sims 3 Outdoor Living Stuff pack. New items include hot tubs, a fully equipped outdoor kitchen with a built-in countertop grill, fire pits and more! Choose from two new styles of décor. Does your Sim fancy wrought-iron pieces from the Garden Terrance collection, or would they prefer Sunset on the Veranda with décor that brings the warmth of the outdoors to everyday living? Outfit your Sims with new clothing items like the perfect casual attire for a BBQ party or a wistful romantic night under the stars.

The Sims 3 Outdoor Living Stuff pack is everything your Sims needs to enjoy the outdoors throughout the year. Turn up the heat and jump in the hot tub!

There's also four high quality pictures and a high quality logo on SimPrograms.

Unfortunately.

This Stuff Pack's objects should have just been included in the Seasons EP when it gets released. However, EA likes money.

It's even more ridiculous that in the description they use the words "throughout the year". What year, EA?

Well.... I guess when you put it that way.. :/ that kinda does suck. But then again, i'm sure a Year Round EP will probably provide much more, and buyers of this one will be dumbfounded.

So true, but maybe it's a hint that a seasons EP is next?

Oooh, good point! Maybe this does mean that the next EP will be Seasons!

I wonder if you get hot tubs from this EP if you don't have Late Night. I'm sure you do, and that's somewhat curious.

That would put a lot of people buying late night because they made hottubs a 'key feature' of it.. they could not include it with people who haven't got it installed, for example, the lapdog that came with apartmentlife was only available for people who had pets installed..

Don't we already have table umbrellas? I think it's under decorative>miscellaneous and that the umbrella is a cream colour and that you can place it on tables.

Yes you won't need late night to have the hottubs if you have outdoor living. There is a laundry set available in the sims 3 store and the washers and dryers work for people who don't have ambitions so this should be the same way.

Who has Outdoor Living Stuff?

Do you like the extra furniture, hairstyles, clothing, etc?? Was it worth it to spend your money on it? I haven't bought it yet.

The reason why I'm asking is because the High-End Loft didn't really excite me, but bought it anyways lol. I was some-what pleased with the new items.

Fast-Lane was exciting because it had new music, and I'm a fan of the 1950s, as well as the stylish cars.

I liked it but there wasn't as much stuff in it as I had hoped.

Aside from that the only complaints I have is that the one floor lamp is way too big, and the special gnomes area always, always on the table.
