Ok, since the first day I played The Sims 3 I had the Story Progression disabled, cause I like to have control of things in my game. But even if it's off it still seems to so things while I'm not watching. Like, I have one unemployed sim and I want him to stay that way, but if I play with another household for some time and return to the unemployed sim, he all of a sudden have a random job. It gets kind of annoying after a while... And today one of my sims got pregnant, but I saved the household and started to play with another one. Then suddenly I noticed among the currently sims friends that the household I just played with have already gotten their baby! So I returned back to the pregnant sim and yeah... There the baby was... lying on the floor... And I check his age meter and he was almost about to turn into a toddler, even though I got the aging off ! I got really annoyed cause I felt that I can't trust the game even though I got SP and the aging off.

So yeah, is those stuff supposed to happen like that or is the game broken as always?

Oh yeah, I've also noticed that my sims gets lots and lots of random items in their inventory. Once I had a sim who got probably over a hundred cars in there, same sort of car too.

Anyone please correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't story progression/aging (for turning it on and off) only for the current household you are playing? Didn't the creators make it so the world around them still changed but you had power over that family. Once you left to another household they were put "back in play" so to speak. I may be totally wrong about this. I always play with progression and age on.

I think Story Progression is supposed to be for the entire neighborhood (example, Sunset Valley). At least that's what I've experienced so far when I turned it off.

Try using a mod that almost always works.

Well, I was using awesomemod for a while, and it worked great! But now it's not working anymore... :( Telling me that the one I am using right now is old and there is a newer one available. But the thing is I can't find any new version of awesomemod on their website :S

Even with story progression off sims will get jobs. That's only because your sims need a boss. So this position will be given to NPC sims from the neighbourhood. Also, if a sim is pregnant then she will give birth regardless of whether aging is off. She cannot be pregnant forever
