How will you change your sims lifespans?
So with generations we're getting a new feature that allows us to adjust exactly how many days each age lasts. (I'm not sure if it'll be in a patch too?) This is a really good idea, I've always wanted to make the Y.Adult stage longer. However I didn't really want to make every other age longer in the process of doing that. (Babies stage is already too long D:)
Anyway, for me (I use the default age lengths):
Baby (Shorten by a day if possible, but that's all) Toddler (Shorten by a day or so) Child (Maybe keep the same depending on how much more they can do in gen) Teen (Same as above depending on how much they can do) Y. Adult (Try lengthen this as much as I can) Adult (Maybe keep the same or slightly lengthen) Elder (Shorten like crazy, probably halve it....I'm not fond of elders at all)

Re: How will you change your sims lifespans?
I play on long lifespan usually, and I think I'm going to shorten every life stage except young adult, which will get all the days added to it. I want young adults to be young adults for about 1.5 to 2 times longer than they are now.

I'm not sure what I want to do. I think I'll continue playing my legacy in my neighborhood. I'll have to make sure people actually have kids though. Idk. But, based on whatever lifespan...
I want a shorter baby hood, and longer toddler hood. I deffinately want kids for a TINY bit longer. Teens are generally good. YA Longer, Adult shorter Elders SO MUCH shorter.

Re: How will you change your sims lifespans?
This will be very handy, since so often I feel like on the default lifespan my Y. Adult/Adult sims are rushed to complete their lifetime wish which leaves them completely desolate when it comes to actually having a life.

Kids and toddlers I'll expand by a few days, baby will be cut down to one day, teens might expand a little, elder will be cut down by half and I'll share the rest out between young adult and adult.

I was trying to find the break down before posting but I can't and I keep forgetting when I start up my game. Anyways....
Add two days to child. Take one off of teen and baby. Badabingbadboom.

I take it these are the default settings for a 90 day lifespan: http://www.flickr.com/photos/simprograms/5634819670/I'm going to think of a better distribution, well, one that I like better, that is :P

Well, hopefully this is a feature added in the Patch, so I can use it!
I'd probably shorten all of the younger ages. Mostly babies, though. There's just so little to do with toddlers and kids, though. Even if I were buying this EP, I don't think it would change much of anything.

Re: How will you change your sims lifespans?
Hmm, I've been playing around with the distribution a bit, and it's not easy to find something better.
I came up with this, I'm going to try it when I get Generations: Baby: 2 days Toddler: 6 days Child: 10 days Teen: 16 days YA: 32 days Adult: 16 days Elder: 8 days
I think the YA stage is too long, so maybe take some days off and add that to the Adult stage and Elder stage.

Re: How will you change your sims lifespans?
Baby - 2 days Toddler - 4 Child - (not too sure yet due to all the new features) Teen - maybe between 15 and 20 days Y.A. - a few days longer than regular Adult - the same as regular Elder - 10 days

This is a pretty awesome feature! Is there a rundown on how long/short you can make them?

Re: How will you change your sims lifespans?
I'm hoping to keep any changes I made stay around the 90 day mark....although the first idea I typed out has gone over the mark at 111 days.
Baby - 2 Toddler - 5 Child - 7 Teen - 12 Y. Adult - 50 Adult - 30 Elder - 5
I want the Y. Adult stage to be really long, but not so long that it makes sims live too long overall. So might cut it by a few days:
Baby - 2 Toddler - 5 Child - 7 Teen - 12 Y. Adult - 45 Adult - 25 Elder - 5
Now it's at 101, bit more manageable.

Re: How will you change your sims lifespans?
I kind of like the lifespan as it is... the one I would likely change is elders, I find them boring and will probably cut their life short. I might extend the child stage, depending on how fun the new stuff is for them to do.

No one else has an old folk's home? I move all my elders into one home and let them fade off into moth balls.

Hmm, that is a good idea... bunk beads will make that even easier to do now too.

Re: How will you change your sims lifespans?
I'll be shortening babies. Consider altering toddlers. Probably make the child stage longer. Keep Teen stage the same. Lengthen the Young Adult stage by quite a bit. Keep Adult and Elders the same.
