I went to play NL earlier on today and it said an update was available so I clicked that I wanted to update, it installed and then I clicked the NL logo again to open launcher and now nothing happens again the program closes its self? I have a mac too. Is anyone else having this problem?

Do you have any mods? That's usually the problem with updates. That's why I am afraid to update.

I'm going to wait to update my game until after Twallan updates his two mods that I have - Story Progression and Master Controller.

Truth be told I haven't played the game in quite a while so I haven't even updated to the most recent update for both of them.

After I installed/patched/updated the weirdest thing happens.. whenever I put in the CD to start the game the launcher doesn't come up instead the setupexe comes up and asks me if I'm sure that i want to uninstall the sims 3 generations. I now have too cancel that every-time i put in the game, bring up the sims 3 Launcher and start it that way not that big of a deal but its pretty annoying. Everything is working great so far... I may have a possible bug im not sure.. my sim adults have yet to come back from the free vacation i had a wild sim party from night to morning and nothing lol.

I have no mods or anything cause I'm always terrified it will mess up my game haha, I've been looking on the Sims 3 forum and it looks like it's a big problem for mac users, EA have finally owned up to it being there problem and are trying to fix it (same old story!) So i guess I'm just going to have to wait it out!

God, is "same old story" so common with them. I really think they don't have many computers or scenarios that they test these patches with. If I was more in touch with Mac, I'd try to help, but quite honestly, I'm clueless to what the differences are.

It's less about testing/quality and more about getting the game out by deadline. An unfortunate side effect with big corporations in the video game industry.

At least EA isn't 100% horrible when it comes to updates afterwards.

Yeah, I got my patch when EADM updated to become Origin. My game works fine, even with the (updated) Twallan mods in it.

Hmmm, so let me get this straight, lol. They released a quick fix patch to correct the issue for some who couldn't start up after installing the game? Have they since removed the EADM autopatch?

What happened for a lot of Mac users is the update broke the game. Then a simguru sent us directions on how to manually install this patch thing, and it got the peoples games (including mine), working again.
