What have you recently been doing in The Sims?
Now, I don't know exactly where and if this belongs, but I wanted to make a thread, sort of like a Chatter Box thread, about what you are doing in the sims. Let me know if we should just stick to other threads, but I think this could be a cool thread.
So, just make a post telling us what you have been recently or just did in The Sims! I'll start off.
Just now, I had my first ever Ghost baby. Never before had I even played a playable ghost, and I'm really excited! The baby is a fire (orange) baby!

I moved my family of sims to a new lot, but not for the first time. Then I remade the lot and threw a bachelorette party... nobody came.

I tried unsuccessfully... I've been playing with my sims' family who just returned from China for a vacation. I'm about to throw my third son a teenage birthday party tomorrow (sim day). He'll be going to military school lol (I think that's what it's called), both my twin teenaged girls are busy with their boyfriends and getting into trouble by throwing teen parties lol. It's fun! I love the grounding part. I'm really looking forward in experiencing the elder days of the sim parents (7 more sim days!). I might prolong the elder age so they'll be able to live long enough to see their grandkids as children-teenagers this time, instead of them dying when they were just toddlers! So it's going to be interesting!

Someone needs to die, preferably the mother, and then someone else in the household or anyone must get the "Oh My Ghost!" Oppertunity to bring the deceased sim's remains back to life. Then, you must impregnant or get a sim pregnant, however which way, and then you should get a ghost baby. Maybe it's not 100% guarenteed, but I got it on the first try. In addition to playing the playable ghost and child, I started a sim (the husband) in the Architectual Design profession and i really like it! I'm getting frustrated though because I do really good remodels and they get sucky reviews because I keep forgetting to make my sim study architecture.

Oh! That sounds easy :) I'm going to try that, thanks so much!
Architectural Design is a lot of fun, I also enjoy playing the firefighter profession as well :)

I recently got Generations. I'm still kind of bored, but this pack is wonderful with all of the new stuff they've added. I might start a family like the Smiths of Langley Falls.

Re: What have you recently been doing in The Sims?
I just started playing Sims again! Well, a couple weeks ago. Now my Sims who were toddlers then are young adults, and married. And I moved them out. And they're all living in Bridgeport too, so there's a lot of fun stuff going on.
I got both Generations and Late Night the same day just recently. It's pretty overwhelming, I've never done two expansions at once before.

Re: What have you recently been doing in The Sims?
I'm quite enthralled with Generations. I created a couple and had them get engaged in-game so they could have bachelor and bachelorette parties, then threw them a wedding party, and now they are raising three children (with two still to come) in a 2-bedroom house. I'm trying to use as many Generations features as I can, I can't wait until the kids are teens. One of them is going to be awful and get into all kinds of trouble! The latest baby also got an imaginary friend doll in the mail so I'm super excited to experience that!

Re: What have you recently been doing in The Sims?
I’ve been playing my one family. They started out as a couple. The husband is a workaholic who’s also athletic. Those are his two dominate traits as he’s always working out and working from home. He was even invited to a friend’s swimsuit party and worked on their computer while at the party. Lol. The wife is a family sim, a natural cook who’s also childish and clumsy. I’m not sure which trait that does this, but whenever she decides to do something or I decide for her, she runs to do it. She never walks, she always runs. She is always playing in the kids toy boxes. The maid must hate to pick up after her all the time. She’s a natural cook too, so she loves to cook. The couple has two sons born in game. Although she’s a family sim the wife seems content with just the two boys. She never gets the “have a child” want. The boys are both in the child stage right now, only 5 sim days apart in age. The husband and wife only occasionally want to be intimate. I think their personalities are different enough. What’s funny is that the husband seems to have the “have a child” want more than she does lately. I believe he currently does too. The oldest son is excitable and a couch potato. He loves to reside over royal court all the time and watch TV. Now that both kids are able to walk on their own I took them on a vacation to China, they were still on vacation when I left them with a day or so left. I think once the kids come home I will enroll in an after school program. The youngest is a heavy sleeper, easily impressed and has star quality. These are rather boring traits I think since he doesn’t really show anything distinct yet.

Re: What have you recently been doing in The Sims?
Just as I had hoped, the husband sim has had a midlife crisis. He wants to get a divorce and I don't know if I want to let him do that... but I might. I kind of like the midlife crisis, it can really change the course of my game if I let it.

Re: What have you recently been doing in The Sims?
About your first traits being "boring" for the younger ones, that's actually good, because it defines them better when they are little. If you have a trait that they can't even do yet (maybe like Amazing Chef or Eccentric), the traits are useless, and they are just default toddlers.

I've been trying to build up a population for a small neighborhood I just downloaded & exploring Generations. So far, the most fun I've had with Generations was changing one of my toddler's imaginary friend doll's name to Satan.

Re: What have you recently been doing in The Sims?
Okay, so a lot has happened since my last update. I'm doing some complicated shit, and it's soo fun! Okay, so here it goes..
I have my legacy. There's Nichole, she's the previous heir. She married Spencer, and they had Jacob. Then, Nichole died. I ressurected her, because I never had a playable ghost. I had a ghost baby, her name is Macy.
The parents are elders, Jacob is now a young adult, and Macy is still a teen. Jacob is investing his time in the Ghost Hunting profession (ironically), and Macy is a hardcore fisher.
So I set myself out on a challenge. Make Ambrosia. Make Macy a REAL girl ;). And believe it or not, it has gone SO great so far.
To make Ambrosia, you need 3 key elements. A level 10 cook, A level 5+ fisher, and a level 7+ gardener. At first I was like, oh well, that's never going to happen. But no. It did. Macy is a level 8 fisher now, and she got her component already, death fish. For anyone who's wondering, you need this progression of baits: Cheese --> Alley Catfish --> Angel Fish --> Deathfish.
Alright, other than that, Nichole (I call her Melvin, she's a regulation nerd. But just got to the top of the medical career!) is a bookworm, and learns fast. I got her to the top of the cooking career in a snap! They are also rich (her mother sold the legacy house and made a SHITLOAD of money and spread it around to the kids). Bought the Ambrosia recipe.
So you may wonder, how am I going to get Life Fruit? Answer: Macy's Great, Great Uncle. Aka, Nichole's Mom's Brother, or, The first baby of this Legacy, aka Abraham Martinez! I had the crazy idea because I remember him gardening as a teen + young adult for the science career. Yeah, I found out he had level 8 gardening. A skill goldmine! So yes, I magically (SO LUCKY!) got the Oh My Ghost! oppertunity because a distant cousin died, and now he is planting some special seeds he found!
I can't wait. This is the most amazing quest i've done so far in the sims. And despite me wanting to do the ghost hunter profession, that is going to have to wait a bit for this process.

Re: What have you recently been doing in The Sims?
I'm working on a house atm...
wondering if I can somehow save the house and not the lot.. as the lot is really big and atm I can't move it anywhere else in town as no other lots are this big...
ohh yes and also ranting about a bug with not being able to save some of my styles... weird thing.. I can save all other styles but the ones I made for my pool... I'm not even using any CC for this just thewir own patterns with new colours...

Re: What have you recently been doing in The Sims?
I recently created a single, YA female sim named Jena Williams. She moved into a one-bedroom high-rise and starting flirting with her female co-worker (they both had the flirty trait). After a burglar tried to steal all her possessions, she met a hot cop, Brendan, who she ended up marrying but being a flirty sim, she cheated on him regularly. They have a daughter, Charlotte. In her job as a stylist, Jena met a better-looking sim named Ahmed. She cheated with him and got pregnant so her and Brendan got divorced and he moved out. With another baby on the way, Jena needed a bigger home so she moved to a cheap, two-bedroom house. Her and Ahmed had a son, Ryan, and just as I was about to ask him to move in, I realized that he was married with three teenage kids and I couldn't bear to break up his marriage. Jena broke up with him and is now a single mother of a child and a baby. So far, Charlotte hasn't grown up well and I intend to make her an awful, rebellious child and teenager. She will also hate her younger brother. I'm excited to play on them some more... most of my families in the Sims are perfect and happy and all get along but I want to try something different with this one.

You and I are on the same trail, Lola! This past Generation had some flaws, but I intend the next generation's children to be /f-ed uppp/. And not exactly this upcoming generation (I have an innocent ex-fisher as heir, I doubt anything will happen), but their children. I can't wait to screw everything up :)

Re: What have you recently been doing in The Sims?
Lola001 wrote: I'm excited to play on them some more... most of my families in the Sims are perfect and happy and all get along but I want to try something different with this one. I do that too, so my most recent family is a little less perfect. I made a family of a couple, their three children, the wifes mother, the wifes brother, and the brothers fiancée. They were split up over 3 houses. I planned to make most of the family dislike the fiancée even though she was a nice person, and have her gain their friendship later on. Then she(Lauren) got pregnant, so I had to rush the parties. During the bacholer party Fred, the fiancé, accidentally cheated on her with a dancer. By the time of the wedding the family had alienated the couple. Once the wedding started I realized Fred wouldn't use the marry interaction because of his Commitment Issues trait, and that he felt guilty about the dancer. Then he got the wish to confess to cheating. I did that, and Lauren hated him. She broke up with him, in front of the whole wedding party, then gave birth. After that she moved out with her baby, Jared, and I switched to play with Fred for one sim day. I switched back and found she was married to, and pregnant by, the town Casanova. Fred's sister told Lauren about the Casanovas other relationships, so she broke up with him. Then she had a fire that destroyed most of her home, and gave birth in the middle of the flaming kitchen. I named the girl Phoenix. After all that, the Social Worker took both babies away because the boy was lonely while Lauren dealt with the fire. By now she was pretty famous in the small town for divorcing twice and having a child out of wedlock. Since she was so miserable I decided to be nice and gave her a makeover, a name change(Lauren Darner to Kate Melloni), a house change, and deleted all her previous memories and relationships. She now has a job as a stylist, a nice boyfriend, an apartment, and a clean reputation. Fred ended up marrying a sim of my friend and had a daughter named Hilda.

^LOL, that's hilarious!! I love that she broke up with Fred at the wedding, that's awesome. And the fire and the kids being taken away... quite a bit of drama in that house!
