 The Sixth Expansion!
EA Russia Have Talked about The Sixth EP And it don't seems like we get Seasons Next :( Quote: The EA Russian Community is always answering questions for their fans. Today it was said by EA Russia that the next expansion pack “would be about life, but in a another format”.
Question by WolfMega: What is the theme of the 6th EP of the Sims 3??? If it life again, so it will be like Generations 2.0??? Not everybody likes Generations and it’s rather small expansion.
Answer by EA Russia: There are a lot of new interactions in the Generations, just explore it. The next EP is about life, but in another format. It is not similar to any Expansion pack in The Sims 2. The logo contains a black background & light Letters.
Somebody: Look, there are 3 carousels for kids in Generations: 1st – pirate ship (hint for Pirates & Nobles), 2nd – horse (hint for Pets) and the 3rd – space rocket. Is it a hint for space EP?
EA Russia: No, but we like your imagination Source: http://simsvip.com/?p=2787

 Re: The Sixth Expansion!
Life in another form? That screams awesome, deeply doven new creature. Also hints me at the fact that there will be 10 EPs for this game not 8.

 Re: The Sixth Expansion!
As if we hadn't had enough of life? What? Are we going to get the "Spiritual" world of TS3 now?

Seems like people are really blowing this up. I think what he means is that it will be a different aspect of life.
It better include open restaurants and stores this time, otherwise it will just be worthless, like Generations.

I know... Seriously. In the end, I was okay with them releasing Pets first, especially with how good it looks. However, now we're hearing that the next EP isn't going to be Seasons, and that it's going to be a "new idea". Oh joy, a new idea. To be blunt, I couldn't care less about new ideas - what the game needs is Seasons and Weather. Something that if EA didn't have to make it an separate EP for money making, would have been a base game feature without question. But now they're holding it off from us... For years. This is ridiculous. It was what made me love The Sims 2 and actually start playing it. Seeing it not be in The Sims 3 base game was a real blow to me, and now they're dragging out releasing it forever. There is not a single new idea that could be more important than Seasons - Just get it out already, EA. You already have the bet of my money, all you have to do is release Seasons!

EA would have put it into Ambitions otherwise. Idk. I think EA is stuck on their idea of not having to see people sit at work or pick up groceries or sit in a resturant. It'd be too time consuming, and the fact that a lot of those things are in and out is somthing i like about TS3.

They could have easily made those rabbitholes. If you don't want them, you don't have to make them. The way things are set up, we could have the option of either rabbithole restaurants/stores or the ability to build our own. We need the option.

 Re: The Sixth Expansion!
Well, EA seem to be sticking to their TS2 way of doing "one re-imagined expansion, one new idea, one re-imagined..." So far we've had World Adventures (Vacation / Bon Voyage... kind of) Ambitions (Relatively new... some elements of OFB and Free Time in it) Late Night (Hot Date, Nightlife) Generations (God knows where they pulled that idea from) Pets (Unleashed and... Pets) Generations 2.0 (or whatever they're going to call this one)
...so hopefully this time next year we'll all be looking forward to another rehash of a TS2 expansion (seasons!!)

 Re: The Sixth Expansion!
If this is a space themed EP I'm going to cry. What the hell do sims need to go into space for? I just want seasons already, it would complete the game in my opinion. EA is really starting to annoy me with this "new idea" crap. It will just be WA all over again.

It just wouldn't work. They're have to be a loading screen, it would recode the neighborhoods, and CAW would be rendered useless. Too much of a change. Before I knew how neighborhoods worked, and thought that Sunset Valley was all magical, I was soooo upset that EA never added onto the neighborhood via those roads that dissapear into the mountains haha

 Re: The Sixth Expansion!
Okay listen up; don't you guys think that you're all jumping the gun on this one?
As far as I'm concerned, I'm not going to open my ears to anything until after Pets is released because by then everybody starts digging for information on the next EP. When several sources start confirming this, then I'll listen. But as far as I'm concerned these are just rumours. That russian translation could easily be innacurate (especially if the writer only used google-translator) and mis-communicated.
"Life but in another format..." - Will we even be playing sims anymore?! I'm sorry but what the hell does this even mean? Who the hell even sells an EP describing "life but in another format"? Do you guys see what I mean when I talked about a faulty translation? Some words just don't translate correctly in english at all because I am sure that the russian employee didn't use that description. I don't know what else he would say though that would explain this translation.
As for space being the next theme... I think not. I seriously doubt that EA will give us a functioning space shuttle right off the bat. And I doubt that EA is going to create a world (/different planet) that has different vegetation, technology, or other planetary elements. I just don't see the TS3 franchise taking a sudden science-fiction turn until the end of the series.
If this is another Generations spin-off then I think that I am really done. Generations and Ambitions are not that great.... These new ideas have either got to get better or just stop. If we got all of the TS2 EPs this franchise along with Generations and Amb then we will still be getting 10 EPs. Just some food for thought.
Anyways how much more in depth can you explore with the life-stages at this point? There wasn't enough content for Generations to be considered an EP so I don't think that there is enough content for another life-stage based EP.

 Re: The Sixth Expansion!
This can't be true, EA would be insane to put out another Generations-like EP. Like Scryer said, Generations barely had enough content to be considered an EP. I do enjoy it but I wouldn't want another one like it.

 Re: The Sixth Expansion!
I can't even think of what "Life in another format" could possibly mean... I even googled it Well, I hope it's a translation error. When I think of life in another format, I usually think of ghosts, vampires, etc...monster-related creatures. Even if it is a space themed EP, I could see that they could be able to pull it off. It'll be mostly like WA, where you'll have the loading screen, and then the new places (like China, France and Egypt) would be the moon, mars, and some other planet, but within a space "bubble" or whatever you want to call it. Aliens would definitely be the new creature. I can't see the sims flying space crafts or whatnot, but will have a ton of advanced technology such as a hovercraft vehicle of some kind. I'm just thinking aloud here (Don't shoot me down!!) If that's not it, what else could mean "life in another format"?! Are we missing out something here??

When i first read that along with the black and white logo, i thought, early 1920's - 1940's. I know this probably isnt it but thats what came to mind. I JUST WANT SEASONS, UNIVERSITY (though it'll probably be shit), and PROPER HOTELS.

If EA Going to make University it wouldn't surprise me if the collage's were rabbitholes LOL But i 100% agree with you. i want those Ep's To. Out of that list, Seasons is the only one they'll do. Although I'm not an expert, I've recently learned EA does an original, non original, then original etc pattern. So let's analyze the EPs in the franchise so far. So here is the list. The Stars are the ones that are repeats from Sims 1 or Sims 2. Forward, the new ideas are left unstared, and the "recycled" ideas are crossed out. You see, EA's next expansion pack will be a totally new idea. Based on the stars given, EA will probably do Seasons for EP7 or EP8. However, between those two, you only have Seasons, University, and Apartment Life (the Makin Magic EP). FreeTime is covered by Generations (though it isn't a remake, and sucks). OFB is honestly covered by Ambitions in my eyes, which pisses me off, because we may never get sim-owned / buildible stores. Now, hypocritically, we could also say that theres a complete possibility, because it is rumored that this game is going to have 10 expansion packs, making us only 50% into the series so far. So, idk. Open for interpretation. Sims 1 takes the creds for originality
