Post sims... online.... back
We have gameplay as good as Sims 3. With an open neighbourhood and an ability to visit friends.

We HAD sims online.
Sims online was perfect in every way, apart from the fact that you had to pay 20 a month. That was why it failed. Does it really cost a company that much to host a game?
Guild wars is free after you buy it from the shop, why can't the sims be?

The Sims 3 Online (Or 4) would be the most popular sims game EVER if it was free after purchase. I'd happily pay 40 or so for a game that would keep me interested forever and be free.

The Sims Social sucks, you can't even interact with your friends. You just meet NPC versions of them. Plus you have to pay for energy which sucks.

Bring back Sims Online, and go guildwars with its freeplay.

It will make everyone happy.

If you disagree with me you did not play Sims Online

I like the idea of TSO, but i feel no matter what as long as its an online game you will have to pay in some way or form. Very few online games are 100% free, if they don't have a subscription fee then they have items in which you purchase or entire sections of the game which need to be bought.

The point is that if the game costs money for the developer to run, then it will cost the player to play.

TSS is just like any Zynga or other FB game. You have to wait for energy. I play it every hour or so for maximum efficiency.

Ahhh but another way they get people into paying just so you can keep playing. Haven't played TSS, however that's how many other FB-like games I've played worked.

I believe he mentioned Guild Wars in his post. I've played Guild Wars before and you only need to pay once for when you buy the game. Ingame money is used by completing quests as I recall and you buy things. It could work the same way with TS3.

I didn't say that it couldnt/doesnt happen. However it doesn't happen often, and would not happen with an EA title.

As I said, very few online games are 100% free.

Well then, if that's the case, EA is a pile of shit.

TSS is like most other FB games - they are free to play with the option of spending money on things like special items and hairstyles and objects to complete quests. I won't spend a dime of actual money on it but it's still fun to play.

It's kind of like farmville. I got to level what, 70+? And I never spent a dime (directly) on the game. I did, however, do the 7-11 promo, and bought items. But they were cheap.

I pay $15 a month to play World of Warcraft. I don't know that I would pay to play Sims...even if it is Sims3 based. It is the "fantasy" world/look that I like. Sims and Sims 2 became...ummm...mundane?...boring...you can only go so far in them (I do not own TS3). WoW so far is always an adventure. (3 yrs and playing).

the original statement has gone but it was half EA wanting them to STOP or illegal things would happen and half EVIL and useless coders. He only had like 1 good coder.

They really did progress, they released videos of it becfore closing down ,some of them may still be on youtube.

sad days :( hopes are dead

I was quite excited when I heard about The Sims Social, and I didn't even realise you only interacted with NPC versions of your friends until I played it. I have a feeling EA may include some online element to The Sims 4 as it has been rumoured, but it's all a waiting game. I'd like the best of both worlds, an offline version and an online version, because there is only so far EA can take the offline version, I think The Sims 3 has hit it's peak now and I hope they don't continue with too many more Expansion Packs, though I am looking forward to Seasons whenever that is.
